Rule 1: posts have the following requirements:

Rule 3: Opinions articles, or Articles based on misinformation/propaganda may be removed. Sources that have a Low or Very Low factual reporting rating or MBFC Credibility Rating may be removed.
Rule 4: Posts or comments that are homophobic, transphobic, racist, sexist, anti-religious, or ableist will be removed. “Ironic” prejudice is just prejudiced.

Rule 5: Keep it civil. It's OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It's NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
Rule 6: Memes, spam, other low effort posting, reposts, misinformation, advocating violence, off-topic, trolling, offensive, regarding the moderators or meta in content may be removed at any time.
Rule 7: We didn't USED to need a rule about how many posts one could make in a day, then someone posted NINETEEN articles in a single day. Not comments, FULL ARTICLES. If you're posting more than say, 10 or so, consider going outside and touching grass. We reserve the right to limit over-posting so a single user does not dominate the front page.
We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.
All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

combine the fact that pro-Russia events are popping up around the world with the likelihood that Russia had a hand in equipping Hamas to attack Israel and the end of US support for Ukraine…
Sure look like a criminal-fascist dictator about to be our new daddy.
How did our attention span get so short? The Russian invasion of Ukraine will never stop being a disaster for the people of Ukraine, the people of Russia, or the stability of civilization. It's no less urgent now than it was at the start of the war, but lawmakers act as though it's business as usual. Sad to see.
Attention span has nothing to do with it. One of our political parties (Republicans via PACs like the NRA) has relied on Russia for a ton of funding for about 20 years.
Ukraine has impacted that party's fundraising making the war a positional issue, especially since the party is dying with Boomers.
Boomers should know better than anyone the dangers of Russia seeking unchecked power.

It's fucking embarrassing that the Democrats have been the only ones really pushing for aide... the party of war hawks have made clear how flexible their core values are.
We've known for about a decade now that the Republicans are on the Russian payroll. The war in Ukraine impedes their goals and has stifled their funds. They are traitors to the United States and her people and enemies of democracy.
Maybe if Democrats were willing to use the aid for Israel as a bargaining chip they'd actually have some leverage.

Shalanda Young, the director of the Office of Management and Budget, stressed that there is no avenue to help Ukraine aside from Congress approving additional funding to help Kyiv as it fends off Russia in a war that is now nearly two years old.
Young also detailed the impact that a lack of additional U.S. aid would have on Ukraine aside from its military capabilities, such as Kyiv being able to pay its civil servants to ensure that its government can continue to function amid Russia’s barrage.
“Yes, Kyiv might have a little time from other donors to make sure they can keep their war footing, keep the civil service, but what happens in the (European Union), in other NATO allies, if the U.S. pulls out their support?” Young said during a breakfast with journalists Friday hosted by the Christian Science Monitor.
Young, a veteran congressional budget staffer, added that the situation was “dire” and “certainly, we’ve bypassed my comfort level” in the time that has gone by since Congress greenlighted new funding for Ukraine.
That ask from Biden also included about $14 billion in managing and caring for the high number of migrants who continue to arrive at the southern border, and the president has said he is willing to negotiate with Republicans to accept some policy changes that would tighten asylum and other migration laws — a key demand of GOP lawmakers.

I don't think the Democratic establishment will ever understand the simple fact that Republicans don't negotiate in good faith. They are the party of grievance, and any successful negotiation would weaken their hold on their base.
