I've been getting Melinda's naga jolokia hot sauce for about a year now. It's like a tastier ghost pepper.

My VPN must have chosen an address in Missoula that day.

Tabasco smoked chipotle, Cholula, Small Axe Jalepeno are my go to casual sauces. My fav hot hot sauces are Hot Ones Last Dab Reaper edition, Puckerbutt's Unique Garlique and Dawson's Zuzu 7 pot sauce

Louisiana Hot Sauce most popular in every state around Louisiana except Louisiana itself

Texas Pete most popular along the south Atlantic coast, nowhere near Texas

I like this one (Lynch's "Sriracha"), but I've never seen anyone else talk about it: https://e.dam-img.rfdcontent.com/cms/009/833/872/453x760_smart_fit.jpg

The Midwestern Louisiana Saucist-Syndicalist Worker’s Republic

Also I like that Louisiana isn’t the top seller in Louisiana

I don't really use hot sauce but I do put chipotle powder on everything. My favorite hot sauce though is a puerto rican hot sauce called pique. Dipping fries in that shit is incredible.

Whilst I concede that standard Tabasco is just red dyed vinegar, I will fight to the death on the hill that Tabasco Habanero is a genuinely excellent sauce and I’m mad I can’t buy it in large bottles in my country.

Tabasco is the only US product I (very) regularly buy. It isn't that strong so you've got to put like 20% of a small bottle each meal but I've tried many hot sauces and it's the one I prefer, specifically because of its taste. Also many others I've tried, like Sriracha, were very salty.

Enough people have bullied me about it for me to conclude I probably have shit taste in that respect but I don't care, I like my tabasco.

Once they had the green variety at my local shop so I tried it out of curiosity but that one is shit, I don't recommend it.

Yeah red Tabasco definitely has its place in my cupboard. I just consider it a spicy vinegar not a hot sauce. But in its role as spicy vinegar I do use it all the time to add a light heat to a vinaigrette or when macerating shallots etc.

I actually like the Chipotle variant. Decently smoky.

[–] Palacegalleryratio@hexbear.net 1 points 11 months ago

Never seen that on sale here, just standard red and if your lucky green. I’ve had to hunt to find the Habanero variant. If I see the Chipotle version I will give it a shot.

For something different for all the usians here to try, my kiwi friends introduced me to Kaitaia Fire - not the hottest thing ever but it's pretty damn tasty

[–] queermunist@lemmy.ml 2 points 11 months ago

I made myself super sick on Dave's ghost pepper sauce once, that shit is delicious but I spent half an hour chugging and vomiting water after eating pizza slathered with it.

I now use it more sparingly.

Melinda's fucks.

Frank's is a good base for a marinade.
