Deleted last 10 days of cached images (self.announcements)

Some bots posted lots of illegal pictures in the https://lemmy.world/c/lemmyshitpost community, and because of federation, those pictures have spread to all instances, including this one.

The lemmy software doesnt have good moderation tools for abuse like this, and the quickest way to get rid of them was to delete all cached images for the last couple of days.

You may see some thumbnail images missing in the web interface, but I personally dont see any missing images in my mobile app. I guess it has its own thumbnail cache.

I've been seeing lots of sketchy spam posts from bots lately crossposted all over. random@kbin.social in particular

Yeah I've also noticed that server in particular being the source of a lot of moderator requests.

The federated nature of this place is both a blessing and a curse I guess...

I blocked that community and its never ending stream of nonsense.

Yeah I know. They are working on a Lemmy feature right now though so admins can choose to not cache images. As soon as that comes out, I'm going to set that as default here to not have that problem.
