Kind of you to ask! I am okay thanks, I just thought I’d share a moody comic (it’s a moody day, I guess) but it’s not a big deal or anything lol

Appreciate the sentiment ^^

[–] Lucidlethargy@sh.itjust.works 9 points 8 months ago

I feel this comic. I think it's a mood a great many people are having these days. Our society is sick, and the ones on the bottom are being disproportionately exposed to the worst of it.

It's a very good idea to ask folks the question above (are you okay?), but I also can understand and really appreciate that someone drew this for the sake of dark humor, and/or societal commentary.

In short, I really appreciate it.

!adhd@lemmy.world

~~(I don't remember how to link to communities without hyperlinks like on Reddit)~~ thanks!

Type a "!" then start typing the community you want to link to, at least the beginning part of it to and you'll get:

[–] 200ok@lemmy.world 3 points 8 months ago

Link worked for me but that's my home instance so that might have something to do with it. I'm also using Sync for Lemmy so the dev might have accounted for community links in the code.

[–] ConstipatedWatson@lemmy.world 9 points 8 months ago

I kind of had the same question

[–] Coldgoron@lemmy.world 33 points 8 months ago (1 children)

Sounds a lot like adhd to me but Im no doctor.

[–] Deestan@lemmy.world 18 points 8 months ago

Yes, but depressive periods not normally.

[–] Metz@lemmy.world 25 points 8 months ago

aren't depressions fun?

[–] MataVatnik@lemmy.world 25 points 8 months ago

Ah yes, me entire existence

[–] _lilith@lemmy.world 17 points 8 months ago

could be depressed. Personally working out helped me sleep. good sleep instead of exhaustion sleep helps the other stuff. make sure you are taking a multivitamin too just in case you are deficient in something (iron or vitamin c are possibilities if you aren't eating vegetables.)

The only appropriate use of the clapping emoji.

[–] howrar@lemmy.ca 3 points 8 months ago (3 children)

But the claps are in the wrong place

It's not going to be a fix for everyone, but if you feel like this guy, you should check to see if you've got the rare form of the MTHFR Gene, which means you'll be up to 80% deficient of methylfolate.

Methylfolate is what our body turns folic acid into. It's a base element that our bodies use to function properly. If you've got an extreme deficiency, well, things just aren't functioning properly. People affected with this will have lived with these issues their whole lives.

Now, up to 60% of the population has a mild form of MTHFR, so the gene itself isn't uncommon, it's the rare form you'll be looking for.

Anyway, getting on a high dose of methylfolate changed my life, life from night to day, I'm not kidding. I still take medication for anxiety and depression, but the methylfolate helps them to function like they're supposed to.

Again, it's not a fix for everyone, but on the off chance you have it, I'd check it out.

MTHFR Gene

For some strange reason when I read that I was imagining Samuel L Jackson reprising his role from Snakes on a Plane.

[–] OceanSoap@lemmy.ml 3 points 8 months ago

They do call it The MotherFucker gene, lol

[–] force@lemmy.world 5 points 8 months ago

Ah, you mean one of the many genetic/biochemical abnormalities which are heavily associated with ADHD/MDD/Schizophrenia/Bipolar/Parkinson's/Alzheimer's/etc., sweet... it can join TAAR1, SORCS3, ST3GAL3, DRD4, DRD5, rs4680, rs6265, FXS... I think that's enough "let's see what kind of fucked up genetics can cause your mental disorders" lol

I like the art style of only having color on the edges of objects. Really sets the mood.

[–] HootinNHollerin@lemmy.world 11 points 8 months ago
[–] MonkderZweite@feddit.ch 11 points 8 months ago

You are burned out?

[–] hperrin@lemmy.world 10 points 8 months ago

This reminds me of Sloth from Fullmetal Alchemist.

[–] Secret300@sh.itjust.works 10 points 8 months ago (1 children)

I hate this feeling. I wish I wasn't so lazym I need to shower more but it's so much work

[–] Rin@lemm.ee 4 points 8 months ago

I kinda struggled with this. I wasn't able to get up and shower unless I had to be somewhere. The shame overrode my broken brain and that's basically how I survived university.

[–] adamantris@lemmy.dbzer0.com 5 points 8 months ago* (last edited 8 months ago)

I feel panel one the most, I hate waking up since my sleep quality is so poor that I'm tired all day, every day

[–] Cryophilia@lemmy.world 5 points 8 months ago (3 children)

Shot, speak for youself. I'm so damn tired all the time I can fall asleep any time, anywhere, if given the opportunity.

[–] RamblingPanda@lemmynsfw.com 3 points 8 months ago

*except when I want to sleep. Then I'm awake until three at night.

[–] proton_lynx@lemmy.world 2 points 8 months ago (1 children)

Have you ever checked for hypothyroidism? I was feeling exactly like you described for 2 years. Then, with a blood test, I discovered I had hypothyroidism and started treating it. Feeling a lot better now.

[–] Cryophilia@lemmy.world 2 points 8 months ago (2 children)

I'm pretty sure it's actually delayed sleep phase disorder. I have a naturally nocturnal sleep cycle. I feel energized at 2am. But I have to work during the day.

But also, I work 60 hour weeks, which is draining no matter what your sleep cycle.

If you’re addicted to a substance seek help for it.

This was my life when I experienced addiction.

[–] force@lemmy.world 10 points 8 months ago* (last edited 8 months ago) (1 children)

Chores are chores and a horse is a horse of course, of course.

Wow, never expected to see a Mr Ed reference in this day and age.

This is life

[–] AeonFelis@lemmy.world 3 points 8 months ago

Why wake up if at the end of the day you are just going to end up going to sleep again?

[–] intensely_human@lemm.ee 2 points 8 months ago

Incidentally if your life is actually like this it’s a result of nihilism.
