If you're in academics, you're always working, even when you're not writing. That includes sleep and everything else. Ideas aren't like widgets in a factory; they're like a flower bed, where your brain is the soil and your attention is the water. Over-watering a flower won't bring it to maturation any more quickly, and infact can kill it.

All of your ideas are always developing, whether you notice or not.
