It's absolutely true that she's invested in election integrity... from a certain point of view.

[–] DirkMcCallahan@lemmy.world 24 points 4 months ago (1 children)

She betrayed and helped murder democracy.

[–] homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world 14 points 4 months ago

She was afraid you’d follow old Bernie-Wan on some damned fool idealistic crusade.

Election integrity— only my team wins; if your party wins then the election was corrupt

[–] unreasonabro@lemmy.world 19 points 4 months ago (2 children)

Biden's right, he really is up against toddlers.

[–] homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world 11 points 4 months ago

No just very corrupt unhappy adults.

[–] altasshet@lemmy.ca 5 points 4 months ago

Making sure the right team wins.

This shit can't be real, it's like we've been living in some shitty reality TV show for the past 8 years.

I hope the aliens are enjoying it more than we are

It started decades ago, just now it’s more obvious. Like cartoonishly obvious, because there are no consequences.

I was born in 85 and I don't remember it ever being this bad. The whole thing with Bill Clinton and Monica Lewinsky was a circus but that only lasted for like a year or two. GWB was just constantly made fun of for being a idiot, I don't really remember Obama doing anything worth lampooning.

[–] jaybone@lemmy.world 4 points 4 months ago

Right, it was never this bad. But if you go back just to Obama, look at the rights response to his very existence. Questioning his birth certificate. Then one day he wore the wrong color suit. He wore like a tan suit or something and everyone shit a brick. It’s always been there, underlying. Just now it’s so much more blatant.

Fox in charge of the hen house. Monkeys in charge of the circus. Republicans in charge of anything requiring ethics.

[–] gedaliyah@lemmy.world 22 points 4 months ago

Are you suggesting that someone from the Ministry of Truth would LIE?

[–] YurkshireLad@lemmy.ca 19 points 4 months ago

That makes her a hero for the republicans and perfect for the job.

Not head of 'election integrity', they're the subject matter expert on election integrity, working to destroy all election integrity for the benefit of the RNC.

Like if Sony had a head of piracy. They wouldn't be a pirate, but they'd know about pirates, and would be working to destroy, imprison, and fight actual digital pirates. For the benefit of Sony.

The goal is to create chaos, so that when Trump declare himself the victor on election night (which he will, no matter what the results will look like) it seems credulous to his base.

Then lawsuits will follow, with possibly some state legislatures declaring Trump the winner despite him actually losing the vote in their state.

Pretty much this. They realized that all they have to do is say they won, and get enough people to either earnestly believe it, or at least go along with it. Then, you can challenge literally anything the winning legislation does, regardless. You can say "well our election integrity committee found that blah blah blah mail-in ballots" or whatever - this is what they did in 2020 with the "suitcases full of fake ballots" thing in Arizona.

Election integrity is when the GOP always wins /s

[–] JasonDJ@lemmy.zip 9 points 4 months ago

The RNCs press secretary gave alternative facts to that, but the point remains.
