We got tired of daily crush posting I think. Also I regularly got excited because I thought it was cush posting (matt )

Recently actually but they were coin cells for my car's key fob. Use AA & AAAs in a few things but I switched over to NiMH rechargeables for those years ago. Worth it imo.

Maybe this is obvious but it's amazing how powerful the Enterprise is in Star Trek (TNG). And so much of that power is in its onboard productive forces.

It's a mobile superfactory powered by a reactor many thousands of times more powerful than our entire civilization. And it's crewed by a bunch of emotionally and philosophically mature scientists & engineers. They can make almost anything, and put it almost anywhere.

If you're a prewarp civilization facing some planet-wide apocalyptic threat there's a good chance this little ship showing up could fix all your problems.

e.g. Climate change would be trivial from a technological perspective. Just make a few carbon scrubbers to reduce levels to preindustrial and reactors to power them, plus some reactors to replace our fossil fuel generators and boom, solved.

discovered evidence of water intrusion on the ceiling. looks like it's getting in at the wall above the window. sure enough the shingle siding is obv too old and the wall underneath is in bad shape too.

really didn't need this complication on my already tight budget. hoping homeowners insurance can cover my ass here (lol).

why are they doing the America 250 years thing a year early? its 1776 not 1775. I legitimately don't understand.

went to a "No Kings" event today. saw a sign that said

NEVER FORGET GHORMAN

and that was my queue to leave. tho there was an indigenous woman in traditional dress and that fucking ruled.

Does anyone know the one that goes:

no money for saving people we used it all for killing people

Thanks in advance

It's looking like my friend can only go through with a long term (at least 6 months) move overseas they've been working on if I take care of their cat.

I haven't offered this and am not particularly fond of this cat. I don't want to integrate another animal into my home.

Here's the kicker: the friend is a roommate so the cat already lives here (in their room).

Not sure what to do. Like I want my friend to get to go, but at what cost? I'm sure they'll resent it if I don't help, and I am ready for them to move out makima-think

But again I really don't like this cat very much, she's really unfriendly with our cat and dog.

I feel like it's unreasonable to not offer to help.

My legs feel more sensitive to air flow when wearing fishnets than when bare. The pattern they make on my leg is similar to that of the dimples on a golf ball, which induce a turbulent boundary layer on the surface of the ball to reduce drag.

If fishnets are causing the same effect, there would be changes in heat transfer but I'm not sure I'm up to digging into the differential equations.

In short, I'm thinking about wearing fishnets while cycling for aero.

certainly feels like there's a lot of movement out there rn
