a large part of it is bc phones are necessary and for many people they can only afford one high price tag electronic device

Honestly that makes a lot of sense. Perhaps this is the ignorance of my techy-bubble where I have a couple decent-spec computers by necessity of the job.

And I completely relate with the blackberrys, I had an old-styley phone with a foldout keyboard and I absolutely loved it! 10x the typing speed and comfort on that phone than I've had with any phone since.

As a daily Fedora user, this is annoying. I totally support the push for open-source, but enabling RPM Fusion on new installs to do standard stuff is a royal pain in the butt that will immediately turn off new users.

Just for interesting edification, here's the best translation of one banner I could get:

"조선로동당의 혁명적 군사정치는 미제침략자들을 소멸시킬 것이다!"

Breaking it down:

  • 조선로동당의 (Joseon Rodongdang-ui): "Korean Workers' Party's"
  • 혁명적 (hyeongmyeongjeok): "revolutionary"
  • 군사정치는 (gunsajeongchineun): "military politics"
  • 미제 (mije): "American imperialism" (shortened form)
  • 침략자들을 (chimryakjadeul-eul): "aggressors"
  • 소멸시킬 (somyeolsikil): "will annihilate"
  • 것이다 (geos-ida): "(it) is" (declarative ending)

A fairly literal translation

"The revolutionary military politics of the Korean Workers' Party will annihilate the American imperialist aggressors!"

I'm not sure that's the case for all roads.

There is explicit policy in some cases to set speed limits lower than actually necessary in order for the 'slow' drivers to keep otherwise ne'er do wells in check.

Wasn't the case originally closed for lack of evidence? And then later reopened for reasons unspecified. Can't say what merit the case had, but seems obvious that the re-opening was for political reasons.

I think it's only fair we also "reset" all the employers' wealth too, then sicko-satan

Decades of stressed attempts by journalists to highlight plight in Palestine means people are inevitably aware that Palestinians might actually be people after all.

Absolutely zero coverage of the ethnic Russians/Russophones in Ukraine being discriminated against / outright murdered means nobody realises there was even a reason the Russo-Ukrainian war started and so are left to conclude Putin is INSANE.

If I wasn't a slave constantly in fear of malnourishment, illness, homelessness, police violence, jail and/or pain, I might not care so much.

OP, politics aside, it seems like you have a genuinely unhealthy obsession with having these arguments. If you don't feel you're getting any meaningful discussion or engagement out of those conversations, then stop.
