You should DEFINITELY seek out the communism side quest. I think it appears in your journal as something like "make contact with your fellow communists"? There are a few people who will point you towards the event I'm talking about that are missable if you rush through the investigation.
I do it whenever I'm playing something like Factorio, but not if I'm playing something for the first time (like I currently am FF7 Rebirth) and actually want to hear and focus on the experience.
Right now I'm watching old YouTube stuff I like, yesterday it was Red vs Blue but I stopped around halfway through season 7 cuz it was awful and now I'm once again rewatching all of HBomberguy's videos.
I like Quinton but damn he made over 40 hours of content about live action 2000s Nickelodeon shows and there is no way I'm sitting through that. Most of the rest of his content is good though.
The only thing I ever seem to learn about foreign cultures (across space or time or both) is that the people in them were basically the same as the people everywhere else. All differences are directly attributable to material conditions.
Plus we all know which parts of the government are absolutely not getting cut by
Been rewatching Red vs Blue. I love it but they really shoulda killed this show off after Season 2, maybe keep going to 5 but that's where it really, really, really needed to stop.
They made HOW many episodes!? THERE'S A MOVIE!!!???
Kurtzman is such a hack. The whole "oh you think your society is good well I'll have you know it's actually made possible by BAD PEOPLE doing BAD THINGS in the SHADOWS" is the kind of shit that a teenager would think is really smart. Coming up with ways for the Federation to uphold its principles in the face of challenges to them would actually be much smarter than defaulting to a vision of the CIA in space.
And it's totally fine to explore the idea that the Federation doesn't always live up to its ideals. That's the theme of a lot of episodes in every series. But New Trek has lost track of the fact that the Federation has ideals in the first place and its become pulp sci fi slop.
Try the drop flop... While driving about 40, reach out and lift top of the wiper from the windshield about 6 inches or so and let it flop back into place. Then, try a cleaning wipe again. I just did that this morning and it worked great.
Just reach your hand out your window at cruising speed and jiggle it, it'll be fine.
I remember at one point some movie review channel uploaded Star Wars Prequel reviews that were each 6 hours plus, can't remember the name but youtube kinda rewards extreme amounts of filler.
But have you considered coming back a hundred years later as a skeleton man/wolf and teaching some kid who looks a lot like you sword techniques?
