Progressivism is a marble on a hill. Either they roll to the right and join the liberals because they support and believe in an unjust hierarchical system as long as it's sufficiently pinkwashed or roll hard left because they see the issue is the system itself

Someone go tell Bloomberg that campaign money is a better indicator of electoral victory than voters. I’m sure he’d be happy to hear that he won the presidency.

“I’m going to vote for a dude that will ensure the comfort of westerners at the cost of black and brown lives around the world and I feel good about this because the alternative is worse. Of course my life is more important than someone in Gaza! The status quo of this system isn’t stomping on me as much as it can and I’d like to keep it that way as long as I can. Yes, please focus your stomping boot somewhere else and I’ll continue to vote for that boot. There’s no ethical line I won’t cross to save myself from oppression because I’m a coward who refuses to listen to the oppressed”

Democracy is already dead if we are forced to vote for genocide. It might just take those comfortable with the status quo longer to figure that out.

Abe Lincoln could be argued as a 3rd party candidate who won since prior to him it was mainly the whigs and democrats as the two main parties.

Now if you asked what grassroots-led 3rd party candidate overwhelmed the two major parties in a shocker of an election, that obviously never happened.

The last Whig president*, Zachary Taylor, was a political outsider that beat out an experienced politician (familiar?). He was running under the Whig banner because the whigs didn’t have a solution for the issue of slavery- Zachary Taylor was a crude extremely rich celebrity soldier and slave owner who never voted. He was ambiguous on his stance on the future of slavery in America. But the anti slavery wing of the whigs hated this. Taylor ruined the Whig party and it never recovered. Lincoln picked up the anti-slavery whig voters, creating the Republican Party.

The modern day Republicans are only held together with trump and I’m not sure what will happen to their party afterwards. Maybe there’ll be another party “flip” when the Republican Party crumbles, a new more left wing party will rise up as the democrats absorb the former Republican voters, causing the progressive democrats to flee the party. This would be the next success of a “3rd party” candidate. But this won’t happen as long as trump continues to be on the ballot.

*there was Millard Fillmore as the 13th, but this was because Taylor died in office and Fillmore succeeded him as president.

Since the study wasn’t actually linked (as far as I can tell on mobile), here’s a link to it.

From the conclusion: “Depression imposes a considerable global burden. Many exercise modalities appear to be effective treatments, particularly walking or jogging, strength training, and yoga, but confidence in many of the findings was low

I always worry about studies like this because it always seems to me like it might be difficult to determine if exercise is the catalyst to better mental health or if someone’s bettering mental health through any number of other kinds of treatments or even changes in a persons social life was the catalyst for exercising more. When I’m feeling particularly depressed, I absolutely don’t feel like exercising, and when I start to feel hopeful for the future, I find myself wanting to exercise more. Same with “just go outside and walk through the woods”. I only feel like doing that on days my depression isn’t particularly bad.

Still better than the Mighty Mouse.

And while we’re at it, the razer deathadder v2 x hyperspeed is hot garbage and disconnects so often in 2.4g mode, I just went back to a wired mouse.

I used to work for a company that pushed a lot of TikTok content- most of it is filmed on a phone, then the footage is sent to an editorial team to edit on a computer, then sent to marketing to post on their dedicated socials phone (and oftentimes a great deal of effort is made into making it look like it was all shot, edited, and uploaded from one device to look more “genuine”). It’s very likely that if someone tracked the location of the account that posted White House content, it would never move out of a single office. Exporting a compressed video, as far as I’m aware, strips the original metadata from the device- and if not, there are definitely ways to strip metadata in the post production process.

Trump would 1000% be worse, but the silver lining of him becoming president is that liberals would suddenly have enough of a spine to say that genocide is a bad thing since trump would be at the helm instead of biden.

I liberated my Rancilio Silvia from a relative who decided their covid hobby wasn’t as satisfying as they thought lol. But I still prefer espresso from my Flair most of the time since the Silvia still needs to be PID modded to have decent thermal management.

I swear if I end up getting the 58, I deserve to be thrown into the ocean. I initially bought the Neo, then sold it for the classic, then replaced the brew head with the pro brew head and pressure gauge.
