Thank you for the kind wishes. He's back to his meddlesome self now that the day has gone on. Sat with him for a little while on the balcony just to see if he got any ideas, but as long as I was there he seemed content to chill far from the ledge.

My dumb shit cat (INDOOR) likes to hang out on my 3rd floor balcony, and normally he's a well behaved young man. He's so well behaved in fact that I've taken to leaving the door cracked so he can go in or out as he pleases. He's been doing this without event for 4 months since I adopted him, but today he must have decided to jump into the near by tree and disappear for an hour or so. I got very worried and after checking all the closets and cupboards in the apartment, I went to the leasing office to report a missing cat. I had already walked around my building and the few nearby once, but before giving up I decided to give it one more search. It didn't take long this time, but I hear what sounds like distant meowing as I'm calling his name not far from my stairs. Took me a while to figure out he wasn't far away, he had crawled up into the engine block of my car parked out front. I'm lucky he chose mine, as I was able to pop the hood and pull his dirty ass out.

But goddamn. What a little dipshit. Needless to say he's lost his unsupervised balcony privileges. He seems a little shaken up and subdued compared to normal, but otherwise in good spirits, and after some physical examination and prodding he doesn't seem to be hurt anywhere. All's well that ends well, but the bad kind of exciting start to a day.

I've been watching Reservation Dogs, and I highly recommend it! Great show that tackles heavy matters like poverty, the way it affects people who live in it, and contemporary American Indian life/culture. It's also got Taika Waititi's signature brand of humor, which is nice to balance out the heavy themes and problems which characters face. The main cast is good, but I think my favorites are some of the recurring supporting characters. There's an ancestral spirit warrior who appears as a vision for some characters played by Dallas Goldentooth, and his entire character and performance are just one of the funniest things I've seen this year.
