Yeah. Its pretty hit-or-miss. it seems pretty rare to find spaces that setup the lights to handle interrupts well. Makes no sense to make people wait longer when the crosstraffic sensors doesn't sense anything and the interrupts haven't happened within a very short period, yet that seems the norm around where I live. So I'm always pleasantly surprised when I'm in a more pedestrian-friendly area that does do it correctly.

Depends. On some intersections, the main road may always be green until either a vehicle sensor or pedestrian cross button is pressed. Depending on various conditions and settings, sometimes pressing can immediately cause the light to turn yellow.

If xyz were something like "hang trans flag in window facing the street," I think I could accept fear of being hatecrime'd as sorta-kinda acceptable given how unimportant that is likely to be for the person doing it. But not respecting/allowing things like name, pronouns, presentation, and hrt would all be shitty behavior at best and definitely abusive with for minors and/or those with disabilities who are much more dependent on parents.
I've heard bluesky servers are having issues because of this. Cool people are leaving, but kinda sad the platform they are trying to move to isn't prepared for that and it doesn't seem mastodon was getting a similar influx last I checked

If you know they are just trying to get you to quit and don't actually want you to do anything, I imagine it's easier than a job where you have to worry about how you appear to bosses and others. The facade of being productive itself can be taxing.
But it also depends how much leeway they give to do whatever. If you know you can just stay up all night and come in to sleep 8 hours, the time could pass pretty quickly...

Hopefully your sib can get access to the treatments they need now soon, whether that be blockers or HRT (whether that be a standard binary option or if it includes things like SERMS). Guessing SERMs are a lot harder to get access to via DIY though.
Sucks cis people privilege cis-puberty over alternatives just because its what our bodies force onto us.
