If we have a massive recession, interest rates, inflation and housing prices might plummet!

Businesses could decide this... But not out of optics, but to maximize profits. I know one theory is corporations go between periods of inflating prices and periods of mergers & acquisitions as the two modes primary means of capital growth. If that's true and businesses perceive the Trump admin as being more favorable towards monopolies, then they may focus on doing M&A over the next 4 years. After which, the increase monopolization will inevitably lead to inflation in the period following.

Even if you are trans... people stuck believing they should back the blue no matter who don't like having that narrative contradicted, much less by the people they use as an excuse to back said party. To be fair, its a comforting lie to believe that one of the big formal powers in the country has your interests at heart...

Its almost like we can still see her messages appear sometimes.

Just because some of us aren't in our 20's anymore doesn't mean we know much more... so many of us also discovered we were trans during or after covid. But its not like trans people didn't exist in the US from 2016-2020 and we'll continue to be around.

Taking some action to feel more secure might help some? From things like firearm training, to community organizing, to getting a visa (or visas, if you can get a foreign one), etc

It still would be a mistake and would prevent some people from voting for him, but Bernie would at least compensate for it by actually supporting popular policies instead of the opposite and have some energy.

I was pretty politically oblivious until high school around the time of things like occupy wallstreet. Somehow ended up in socialist* spaces on facebook,.

*was also in progressive lib/socdem spaces, so I wasn't particularly differentiating at the time. Honestly couldn't tell you how much I'd still support the candidate I voted for in 2012 (one of the socialist 3rd party candidates). Just that it was seemed better than what the dems and greens or justice had to offer.

Guess it was the failure of "Hope & Change" in 2008-2012 that led to the movements that made me pretty anti-democrat, but I never believed in that hope & change; was simply unaware politically before. But it wasn't like some discrete event.

it’s always nice to get a reminder of why i try to avoid posting there or even just look at it in general.

When I accidentally wonder into a trans thread on someplace like blahaj or beehaw, I'm always like "wtf is with these comments?" and then check the instance...

  1. Not 70+ years old.

Still managed to make enough mistakes to offset Trump's age.
