looks like the bus factor is now zero on the hamsters running the site

how many years before we get cars with unskippable ads in them that automatically reroute your self-driving to burger king instead of taco bell if you don't click to opt-out?

not the point but that fucking road is a 45mph zone (except when they activate the flashing beacons then everyone's going to magically listen to the signs and slow down to 15mph)

america is a fucked up place

and the pole he hit is literally the stoplight on the bumpout for kids from the school to cross the street. because of course reducing the crossing distance from 90ft to 70ft solves that problem, nobody would ever speed down a shared center turn lane to bypass traffic

the twitter post could be coincidence, I have no idea if that guy is a chapo head

but if the same was posted here I would assume they heard it on chapo

I don't hate chapo but I'm glad we aren't so focused on it anymore, its just not that interesting being like "oh that felix bit was hysterical", "oh will's trump impression is bad" multiple times a week for 5-10 years. I still listen when I feel like it, but its not my whole political universe, thank god

This exact story was also just on the latest chapo, this guy's son is running for mayor of NYC now as a demsucc. small world (or this post was inspired by that)

The reason I initially got there was because white wasn't labeled on the key for the map so my eyes gravitated to the other side where it was. I think in the context of Hexbear and with a little knowledge of the terms used it makes sense, but could be clearer if you plan to use it as propaganda to a broader audience. And I didn't immediately connect that they were semi-unrelated sections, I assumed they were more inter-related. separating them differently would've been clearer to my eyes at least, vertical separation or separate images entirely.

honestly the chart is confusing, mainly because the same colors are used on the left hand spectrum and the right hand map, but with different meanings. (people in south america aren't Usonians, I assume)

It's also a bit confusing to me to only denote Guna Yala, not the lands of any other people

not sure I even totally understand what a 'tankie' is aside from the generally accepted definition

It has nothing to do with this photo or even China. It is a dated communist insult going back to the 50s when many communist parties were infighting or splitting over their differing opinions on the Soviet occupation of Budapest following the october 1956 revolt of nationalist and anti-communist forces. I believe it specifically arose from arguments within the CPGB. However the sense in which it is used by liberals against communists today has little to do with any of that, it's a word barely clinging to any semblance of meaning, much like how "woke" is used by reactionaries

derogatory slang for an US-american

the etymology is confusing https://hexbear.net/comment/5647240

I wonder if that was our admins

That would be my guess. maybe just experimenting to see if that would remove the modlog entry?
