To your last point, I have no idea what "basilisk" means in this context, but my basilisk will reward the people who have heard of roko's but don't contribute to its existence with joy and good fortune. In addition, my basilisk will reward the people who contribute to its own existence with a free freshly-baked plate of their favorite cookies in their time of greatest need.
We'll see which one wins out.

Someone please explain Roko's Basilisk to me. I have a loose understanding of what rationalism is, I'm assuming that should put me on about the same level as a rationalist's understanding of it.
It seems like it's trying to say the later ones give you more time awake but I'm closest to everyman with everything scaled up by like 80%.

Is Homie the Clown underrated? Great episode. The "you people have stood in my way long enough" line is one of my favorite gags.
I would guess it doesn't count as underrated, but yeah, Homer's Enemy is the episode for me too. The B-plot doesn't even do a lot for me (okay, Grimes including "A son who owns a factory!" when angrily listing off Homer's blessings was pretty great), but every scene with Grimes is pure gold. The scene where he's laughing maniacally watching Homer drive off after tricking Homer and then stops laughing once Homer backs up into his car is amazing slapstick comedy, and the contest scene is perfection.
"Could you explain your model young man?" "Well, basically I just copied the plant we have now." Burns is immediately impressed.
The only reason I recognize Tervell is that for years if I see a post that's more than a couple hours old but still has 0 comments there is a 95% chance it's his.
I spent like a full minute trying to decipher this euphemism before I saw your comment below and realized it's a news article.
