I was having trouble understanding what you meant because you didn't think about the obvious implications of millions of properties being unloaded in a short time.

If the number of landlords drastically increases, which would happen when you have mass property sales, then there's more competition, and rent goes down.

Or, depending on your setup, the government seizes some of the properties that people refuse to sell, and turns them into public housing. This also drives rent down.

So then, what happens? Oh yeah, both buyers and renters win. Was that clear enough? Perhaps I should write in all caps.

What a terrible article. The solution is throwing more subsidies? Of course it's not! The solution is making it illegal to own more than a few properties. It really is that easy.

It's not a "healthcare system". It's a "health insurance system". And like all insurance systems, it's designed to make money for the insurance companies. It functions quite well in that respect.

Many countries in the world actually have health care systems, but the US does not.

Oh my God oh my God if the landlords have to sell, that would be... Check notes... That would be really good for people who want to buy houses.

Ah, take out a loan, pay ourselves, declare bankruptcy, walk away. Classic.

This is not any kind of modern "AI". This is a fancy version of "key word filtering". It's been done for decades. Why, tech writers, why must you not use your brains when writing these articles? ... We aren't going to believe a word you write if you can't get basic facts figured out.

Well no. Hillary was a center-right candidate. If she wanted votes from progressives or left-wing voters, she knew exactly what to do. But she threw those votes away, relying on rhetoric like this post. We all saw it happening, and she did it anyway. What if she had pushed for universal health care, or unions, or campaign finance reform, or gun laws, or against wars? It would have been an exciting election.

It's an interesting thing, because when you have multiple unions actively working to stop Elon musk from doing horrible things with his company, and all he can do is lash out at them, it shows he does not have the mental capacity to bargain which means his company is going to lose more money than they would have, had he used his brain.

The article is written by people who don't know history. Talking about salaries was never taboo, as the law clearly states, and of course unions always have done so, but companies tried to pretend the topic was off limits.

Child slave labor. Jesus. Prison time for the owners please.

First, there is no "wrestling". The policy is clear. Second, the only way to fix declining population is to increase permanent residence, which means either a Permanent Residence Visa or citizenship. But it takes 10 years for Permanent Residence, and Japan bans dual citizenship. Work visas do not fix the problem. But work visas are popular because immigrants can be treated as slave labor.

In other words, the author of that article has done a small amount of research but is actually being far to generous to a xenophobic and racist government that's enabling the abuse of foreign laborers.

Lack of effort to stop sexual assault in Japan is well documented. Victim blaming is common. This is a systemic problem, and if you didn't know, then now you do.
