To be fair, the factory management knew that it was dangerous but didn't tell the workers and encouraged them to lick the brush.

I'm sure the AfD is absolutely thrilled.

I became a socialist because I was an "essential employee" during the height of the pandemic. I was treated like shit by my company, the customers, and the government while they sung my praise. I watched my grandpa get good cancer treatment with the VA (shocker, I know, but it happens) while my sister and grandma had to fight insurance for cancer treatment.

We can't make a perfect world, but we can make a better one. And it starts with a socialist economy.

Both the democratic party and the republican party are liberal parties. One of them got scratched.

Support crowd funded groups and cooperatives. This will continue until workers are the ones receiving the profit.

Because people refuse to acknowledge that the US government is assisting a genocide. I believe that Blinken only knows China is full of shit because it's literally what the US is doing with the genocide.

It would violate my NDA to say anything more than: yes, all of the software I've helped develop use the name of mythical creatures during development

Tbh the idea of exploiting 100s of people for my personal gain makes me want to set the gun down and put on a trigger lock.

The US has the WARN Act, which requires 60 days' notice or 60 days' pay if at least 500 employees or 33% of the workplace are getting laid off (whichever is smaller). It's a threadbare legal minimum on severance, but there is a minimum.

Don't wait for a layoff, start organizing a union for that juicy 'represented' employment status (as opposed to at-will). Unions can't stop layoffs, but they can minimize the impact, negotiate a higher severance, and provide advanced notice. I highly recommend the good folks at CODE-CWA, they specialize in organizing tech workers

If by 'we' you mean the billionaires and political leaders in a position to do something, then absolutely.

Some of the more avid history fans might be thinking, "Casey Jones saved several lives, why is he being portrayed as a scab?"

The intro that Utah gives for this song doesn't explain it enough in my opinion. It's a fictitious and comedy song that uses the name recognition of Casey, simply because there weren't really any well known railroad scabs and Joe Hill was basing this song on the Ballad of Casey Jones in honor of a rail strike.

Company could endure biggest US strike of 2024 as unions accuse it of intimidation during contract negotiations

Disney could face the largest strike in the US this year after it was announced that thousands of theme park and hotel workers in California will vote on whether to stage a walkout.

Three trade unions representing 14,000 “cast members” at Disneyland, Disney California Adventure, Downtown Disney and the Disney hotels announced an unfair labor practice strike vote would be held next week amid negotiations over a new union contract.

In a critical statement, union leaders accused Disney of “unlawful discipline and intimidation and surveillance” of union members. The entertainment giant did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
