I prefer Parenti's quote on democracy

Democracy is a wonderful invention by the people over history to protect themselves from the power of wealth. That's what democracy was in Greece, that's what democracy has been ever since. It's an invention of the people, nobody else but the people. There's no great philosopher that invented democracy, there's no great political theorist that thought about it and put it together, there's no great intellectual or writer or artist who created democracy! It was the mass of people! Anonymous, ordinary working people, working women and working men, people trying to survive, they're the ones that fought for it and they're the ones that gained whatever modicum of decency and security we might have in this inhumane capitalist system throughout history.

When's a good time to visit? I've been fishing up in Canada, but I've never visited the cities up there

If you're celebrating Vermont cheese, you need to get out to Wisconsin. I'm a Minnesotan so it does pain me to say that they're better than us at something, but Wisconsin cheese lives up to the hype.

I don't know if you've kept your head buried in the sand for 8 years, but all we've seen is Trump proving that he believes any perceived wrongdoing to himself is a crime. It's a CEO philosophy of fire anyone that disagrees.

well, let's start by breaking down the word.

  • Anarcho: without leaders
  • Syndicalism: a socialist economy in which the will of workers are directed through labor unions

So as a word, it means a socialist society without leaders, with an economy controlled by justified hierarchy. From what I've found in my search is that anarcho-syndicalists don't really have any major published political philosophy (I know it's out there, I just haven't found it), but it's typically taken the form of aggressive, sometimes militant methods of organizing workers. Historically, the one extreme example of their success was the anarcho-syndicalist CNT union during the Spanish revolution, which established a wartime socialist economy based on syndicalist values.

An important term I want to point out that's important to all anarchist strains of political philosophy is justified hierarchy. An extremely common misconception is that anarchists want pure chaos by destroying all of society, which couldn't be further from the truth. In actuality, they are opposed to all hierarchy that cannot be justified. This includes political parties, governments, and representative democracy. Instead they believe in highly cooperative direct democracy to ensure the will of the people. This is distinct from government due to free association. With syndicalism in the mix, this means that unions direct the distribution of goods within and between communities based on free association; both communities/unions/federations cooperate for as long as both groups see it as beneficial. These unions do not have any influence on what people choose to do, in fact the union itself is a justified hierarchy with limited direct influence on their member's lives, but controlled via participatory direct democracy. that is what it means to have justified hierarchy.

Same with the US.

And what was the outcome of this IP theft? A video mocking a multi billion dollar corporation? They took down the specific product called out, but they still make extremely similar dslr bags to peak Design and they're definitely still copying other companies designs. This is my point. IP laws only benefit the billionaire class and fuck over everyone else.

You're saying that like it isn't already rampant. IP laws are a textbook example of classist disenfranchisement. It's a rule for which the capitalists are protected and not bound by, but which workers are bound by and do not receive those protections.

I work for a game company, the only reason I would tell you not to use a pirated version is because it probably isn't cracked properly and will throw client-server errors. You'll want to crack it in a way that will still receive the playlist updates

It looks to me like the only difference is that the card is flatter than the wall

This song is about how workers have been injured, maimed, and died on the job for capitalists. This song highlights how there's already violence inherent to the system of capitalism, though I feel it's impossible to see that message without also realizing that we should not be afraid of violence when opposing the capitalist class in strikes, protests, and other direct action.

This song is by the band Los Lobos, and actually comes from the album used as our community art! The band wanted to commemorate the 1965 Delano Grape Strike by the UFW. The phrase "viva la huelga en general!" means "long live the general strike!" Cesar Chavez and Dolores Huerta were the leaders of this strike, with Dolores also coordinating the wine and grape boycott with the International Longshoremen union and community supporters.

Why yes, I did discover a new artist, could you tell?

Too often this song is seen as an unwavering patriotic song, which to me indicates that people aren't paying attention to all the lyrics. This song is about the country forcing the poor and downtrodden to go to war on behalf of people they will never meet and then expected to, somehow, return to normal. When understood in it's appropriate context, this song is better than anything uncritical listeners hear.
