You couldn't make Soylent Green today because literally everybody already knows by now that it's people

played it at launch, felt this. It was a pretty terrible game in almost every way, but in retrospect, the zombie invasion disaster was pretty neat. I'd mess around with that in Cities Skylines for sure.

I'm not the biggest Farrell fan but Old School or Step Brothers wouldn't have been the same without him, just perfect roles. I also liked him in the latest season of The Boys, as a

Adam McKay was in the early steps of doing a Will Farrell comedy about Reagan's time with Alzheimer’s dementia, the concept being he was too far gone so his advisers told him he was playing the President as a role... the outrage machine got summoned and it got binned, but CANCEL CULTURE only applies to other things I guess.

Why does anyone think this guy is some kind of business expert? Why is he propped up by CNBC all the time (and apparently FOX) as if his opinions are at all relevant?

He got rich by using VC money to prop up a real dog of a software company, cooked the books, then sold it to Mattel in what is regarded as one of the worst business deals of all time

Now he makes all his money like Trump did, licensing his brand to sad companies and getting appearence fees. He sells mutual funds with his name on them even though he's not licensed, because he has nothing to do with them. He ran for Conservative party leadership, then dropped out because he couldn't be bothered to (or is incapable of) learning French, even though he's from Montreal.

Business people with real wealth don't spend all their time on TV or sell Cameo videos from a fake Shark Tank set, willing to endorse any shady business for a few thousand dollars.

Just ignore this guy, he's the worst.

I knew someone about a decade ago who made a business of buying used Dodge Caravans (built in Canada) from the US then bringing them back into Canada to resell, the import and brokerage costs were thousands of dollars but the profit in the difference was still worth it because our prices for our own cars are that inflated.

There was a lot of paperwork and a few modifications that needed to be made... seemed like a lot of work, wasn't exactly easy money.

I saw a bunch of comments about this game deriding it for looking like one of those fake video games you see kids playing in movies and commercials and stuff. So maybe they should sell it to studios for exactly that, like the deal Jack made with Spanish-language soap operas to use Liz Lemon's instantly cancelled Dealbreakers talk show as background on 30 rock

I’m unclear what percentage is bots and what is oblivious people with nothing useful to add but a compulsion to contribute anyway.

I'm convinced (without evidence) that the bots who have wholesale taken over that aren't just copying and pasting are LLMs instructed to respond "in the sarcastic tone of a redditor".

With bots being the majority, any actual human who enters the conversation either emulates that style to fit in, or to seek the upvotes/approval of everyone else who gets it for responding in that way.

The LLMs then train off this new, more toxic engagement going forward, creating an Ouroboros-esque race to the bottom
