Reminder: police unions are not worker unions

[–] MehBlah@lemmy.world 1 points 33 minutes ago

One thing is for sure donuts would go missing right there immediately.

Unemployment is at 3%! Who is crossing the strike lines to work at Amazon of all places?

[–] Psythik@lemmy.world 2 points 35 minutes ago (1 children)

If unemployment is so low then why can't I find a god damn job? I've been searching since October!

[–] randon31415@lemmy.world 1 points 25 minutes ago

You can find jobs, just not careers. Lower your standards and their are infinite shit jobs that you can take.

[–] lepinkainen@lemmy.world 1 points 2 hours ago

Why do they all look like Mario?

[–] sunzu2@thebrainbin.org 4 points 2 hours ago

They do behave aweful a lot like an occupation force

[–] Thcdenton@lemmy.world 2 points 2 hours ago

See guys? Together anything is possible!

[–] prole@lemmy.blahaj.zone 5 points 4 hours ago

Do we still have to keep calling their gangs, "unions"? Clearly they have zero interest in class solidarity, and have only reinforced the reality that they exist to protect capital.

[–] GhiLA@sh.itjust.works 3 points 4 hours ago

Throw a brick.

Yes, from the back of the crowd where the only blame is one out of twenty people. Where else?

[–] rayyy@lemmy.world 4 points 4 hours ago (2 children)

Shouldn't people be boycotting Amazon, otherwise working people are hanging themselves with the rope they bought and brought to the party.

[–] sunzu2@thebrainbin.org 1 points 3 hours ago

Spread out that spend, but being a discerning consumer will only take us so far.

At least some of us have already.

[–] AshMan85@lemmy.world 1 points 3 hours ago (1 children)

im sure they are just trying to prevent legal protester from leveling before they get beat. ACAB

Bastards and scabs. It’s a good look

[–] teslasaur@lemmy.world 0 points 3 hours ago

Imagine complaining about people taking a job to support their family, instead of taking that job for themselves and doing it "the way it should be done". If you actually wanna change the system, you might wanna try to take control of it first.

[–] RedditRefugee69@lemmynsfw.com 0 points 3 hours ago (2 children)

I feel like I'm taking crazy pills when people beat the drum about cops enforcing the laws we tell them to enforce.

Did all of you sleep through Civics?

[–] Dadifer@lemmy.world 5 points 3 hours ago (1 children)
[–] RedditRefugee69@lemmynsfw.com -1 points 2 hours ago

Yes, but crossing a picket line isn't.

[–] sunzu2@thebrainbin.org 2 points 3 hours ago (1 children)

Did you ever study labour history in the US?

No because they don't teach to peasants haja

[–] RedditRefugee69@lemmynsfw.com -1 points 2 hours ago (1 children)

The irony of you using "peasant" as a slur in a pro-labor conversation...

[–] sunzu2@thebrainbin.org 2 points 1 hour ago

In tejas that's called being direct!

Main issue in US is that all these plebs think they are "middle" class when really they are one adverse medical event of bking the family.

[–] xpinchx@lemmy.world 30 points 11 hours ago (2 children)

Police are unionized lmao. Let's break up that union and see how they like it. They should be on our side but the fucking cowards bent the knee. I'm not the least but surprised, it's no longer the police but a gang of violent goons protecting the elite.

I wish the irony wasn't lost on them as having the police as allies would do us all a lot of good.

[–] Notyou@sopuli.xyz 7 points 2 hours ago* (last edited 2 hours ago) (1 children)

I floated the idea to someone that we should make police unions responsible for any legal payouts when a cop is found at fault and there is a civil payout. The police won't hold themselves accountable and they don't even have to pay and fines. The tax payers do. Making the police unions pay would give them incentive to actually cut ties with bad cops.

I was told that was a terrible idea and the fastest way to bankrupt the police. I didn't see the problem.

Oh no, the police going bankrupt. The horror!

[–] Anticorp@lemmy.world 13 points 11 hours ago (1 children)

They're not smart enough to take sides. They just do what they're told.

[–] rayyy@lemmy.world 2 points 4 hours ago (1 children)

They just do what they’re told.

That, and they do what they are well paid to do.

[–] SplashJackson@lemmy.ca 1 points 3 hours ago

And what they can get away with!

[–] D1G17AL@lemmy.world 21 points 10 hours ago

Fucking class traitors

[–] queermunist@lemmy.ml 49 points 12 hours ago

This is why strikes are so important.

They remind the workers who's side the cops are really on in the class war.

[–] Jumpingspiderman@lemmy.world 63 points 15 hours ago (1 children)

Not only are all cops bastards, Cops are class traitors. Police unions should not be allowed.

[–] metaStatic@kbin.earth 39 points 15 hours ago (4 children)

class traitors

Daily reminder that cops are not working class

[–] prole@lemmy.blahaj.zone 4 points 4 hours ago* (last edited 4 hours ago)

I would say the majority of cops, in America, are firmly in the working class, financially speaking. Unless you've got some theory reason for why police are excluded from the proletariat or something. Which I don't know if I'd argue with. They exist to protect capital.

Do you mean they aren’t working class cause they’re cops, or cause yours make a lot of money?

Ours make shit money, and class is inherited.

[–] synae@lemmy.sdf.org 12 points 10 hours ago

Idk, in my estimation they ARE working class, which is precisely why they are class traitors

[–] Nyxicas@kbin.melroy.org 81 points 16 hours ago

If this doesn't tell you how much of the authority, your local police, are in the back pockets of corporations. Then nothing will.

[–] Anticorp@lemmy.world 8 points 11 hours ago* (last edited 11 hours ago) (1 children)

That's supposed to be NYC's finest? They look like lazy mall cops. Sloppy as hell, out of shape, and disorganized.

[–] SaharaMaleikuhm@feddit.org 5 points 10 hours ago

Well, they are as fine as it gets. Which just happens to be not a lot.

[–] Chivera@lemmy.world 10 points 12 hours ago

Remove the police union see how they like it.

[–] FlashMobOfOne@lemmy.world 12 points 12 hours ago

Shockingly, they're all fat useless pieces of shit too.

[–] Kernal64@sh.itjust.works 64 points 16 hours ago (1 children)
[–] T00l_shed@lemmy.world 39 points 16 hours ago

Class traitors, every single one

[–] K1nsey6@lemmy.world 40 points 16 hours ago (2 children)

Pigs will always protect capital

It’s something to do with why they were invented.
