Proles Pod is back actually. Their Stalin Eras series was pretty good. That said, I probably won't wouldn't sub the Patreon.

This, so much this! My wife fought for like 10 years to get her gallbladder removed because nobody believed her. I went with her a couple of times and they'd ask symptoms and she would regularly forget to list important things and I'd remind her. I eventually got her to keep track, it finally got through the fog for a provider that referred her to the right specialist. She's quite a bit better now.

Second example: I have Celiac disease, I just found out last week. (I was so used to how I felt when eating gluten that I didn't realize it was happening unless I overate or drank beer). I had always had random little things that would pop up (dermatitis, high liver enzymes, etc). Because I kept track, when I recently had my vertigo attack, I saw some other signs that made me ask for a test.

Long story short, journal EVERYTHING because any little symptom might not make sense in the moment but might be the key to finding the problem and actually fixing it.

Holy shit. I thought getting SSDI in the USA was difficult. My dad had to fight via lawyers for years, as did my mom when she got sick, even though they'd been hard workers for decades. That just sounds like outright, mask off, class warfare. The people making the decisions that lead to these denials should be [REDACTED]

Don't you besmirch oatmeal raisin...but I will join you on white chocolate macadamia (because it should omit the macadamia)

I walk 10-15k steps per day and work 260 days per year. I've gotten nearly 2 years out of my set of Brooks walking shoes (though, I did have to replace the insoles after a year).

Next year, that number will be more than 50% but I bet they won't change the usage of percentages to reflect that 50 families own more than the MAJORITY of the rest of the population, COMBINED. Guillotines are cheap, compost is useful.

You know, I could see that, though for some reason it feels like Gabe would be more wholesome and much less completely unhinged when he rants.

I can only hope he has made some form of training program to have someone like him in place to follow behind him. I do worry about it as well, though. It's been such a fun ride along the way.

I'm so sorry, comrade. You're spot on with pointing directly at capitalism, it (as an extension of colonialism and imperialism) are the biggest hurdles to safety and comfort for all of human kind, because a smaller and smaller minority of humans want to be dragons and hoard it all themselves

Reminds me of the lines from Carsie Blanton's song Democrats

Republicans will obviously kill you But at least you know where they are at They'll shoot you in the head (head!) Make sure that you are dead (dead!) The Democrats will shoot you in the back (and also in the balls!)

So sorry you're dealing with that. Across the pond it can be almost as difficult if you aren't independently wealthy. My wife had to fight with the doctors for over a decade to finally determine that she had gallbladder issues and even then the GI doctor did not want to refer her for surgery, we had to demand a referral to a surgeon for a second opinion. In that time she lost multiple jobs because she couldn't ever figure out what was making her sick and would get let go before FMLA that would protect her would take effect. I really hope you get well soon.

Between this and his recent tweet on his twitter clone referencing Musk, I give it 6 weeks tops before they actually try it.

Hey, I've got a family friend who passed away this past week. His roommate desperately needs help to be able to pay rent and bills until he can find another roommate (he is also taking on the responsibility of our late friend's cat). If anyone can help or share, we would be forever appreciative. So far we've managed to raise just less than half of what he'll need to stay housed for another month.
