Hey y'all. I have a cat that I adopted late last year. Dottie. She's about 11 or 12, so older. Lately she's been eating less and less, and over the weekend that dropped to almost nothing. She needs a vet visit badly. The only vet that would see me on short notice has an $85 fee to see her, plus whatever they decide is necessary for treatment. I have nothing to my name right now, and if they refuse to see her for lack of payment I'm kinda just gonna probably have to watch her waste away and hope she recovers [i know enough about cat health to know that's not likely here] I'm really, really not a huge fan of that prospect, so i'm reaching out for help.

Got her to the vet. I had to accept $700 and change of care, and my ability to pay a fraction of that led to some decently substantial humiliation and embarrassment on my part. They ended up docking some of what they were going to bill, and pointed me to some charities, but I was not able to secure her medication or anything but some fluids to give her.

Her diagnosis is an acute, serious UTI and kidney function is currently impacted. If I can raise the money for the medication, I can get that tomorrow or whenever the money is there. If not, I kind of... just have to get ready to say bye, which is a possibility anyway.

I want to give her the chance to live. I'd like to keep asking for help, but that's a lot. I'll leave this open if anybody wants to keep donating, you'll be helping my cat have the best chance she's got if you do; but I also don't have any real sense of the likelihood of success here, and I'm trying to prepare for the worst.

I get paid tomorrow night, but for now the fridge is empty and I need some food. Can someone spot me 15? Thank you, comrades.

Hey comrades, it sucks being in this position. I lost my job at the end of February, struggled with finding employment until May, found a job I really liked, and then they closed after working there for less than a month. So I've been without an income again for a few weeks, and I'm still looking for work.

Unfortunately, I fell behind on my utilities and woke up to my power being shut off. I need $350 to restore it, so I'm trying to gather money from different sources to try to make that happen. Edit: So I was able to get my power restored by making a partial payment of $50 and committing to on-time payments of $50 for the next 12 months. So, the immediate crisis has been avoided. Now I just need to keep trying to find a job so it doesn't get shut off again next month lol.

If y'all have been watching my post history, you'll know it's been an eventful week. Got abused, new housing, lost my job, got another one, and I have some really great room mates. Life is going good right now. But I really wanna go to the grocery store and grab these goobers I'm living with something for lunch. They're going to be mowing their mom's lawn and I have therapy. We're all in between jobs, and they've been massive help to me. We'll end up figuring something out if nobody sends anything, but it would be great appreciated

So there’s a food cart on the other side of town that gives me free food—literally the only place to have never pulled the rug out from under me. But it takes an hour and multiple transfers on the bus.

Today I was planning on going out there so I could fucking eat but then of course one of my annoying friends I don’t even know why I call them friends, needed my help with some stupid shit so I literally spent like 3.5 hours doing this shit—not gonna make it to the food cart. Literally have not eaten today except uhhh—an iced coffee and, a couple “hits” off a bag of C&H white granulated sugar like it was a fucking carton of milk lol.

I have a few wilting veggies left, and some carbs (rice mostly) - but I really need to go to the grocery store. I need protein, I need to get cat litter if I can raise enough, too. I fucked up and accidentally threw the thing away, lost my id card and the wallet itself, but nothing else fortunately. I'm still in limbo between jobs after not qualifying for unemployment and genuinely have nowhere else to turn right now for small expenses like these whenever they come up. But I really do need to replace the id as soon as possible, I need it to pick up my prescription every month.

Any amount at all helps, I know others around here aren't doing very well either. I appreciate you all so much, I hope to pay the aid I've received here forward when I'm in a more stable position.

Hey all

I thought I would give this a try. I find it uncomfortable to ask for help, but here it goes: recently, I was outside with my cat and he was scared by a snake and freaked out and bit me. The finger got infected, and urgent care made me to to the ER. Long story short, I got hit with a $700 bill and lost some work over the injury. Most of my life has been spent just getting by financially, and any time something big like this comes up, it throws everything out of balance. I need to fix my muffler on my car, or risk getting pulled over again. I also need to renew my registration, all while trying to pay this medical debt before it goes to collections and they hound me worse.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, and I will be able to pay it forward here in a couple of months. That's assuming I dig myself out of this hole.

So I just got out of an abusive relationship, and I accidentally left my meds behind at the house. I'm going to the urgent care to get a new prescription, but my pharmacy isn't open on weekends so the meds are going to be expensive as hell. It's been a year at least but I always stop myself short of asking for help to figure out wtf is going on. I'm convincing myself that this is the appropriate place to ask.

To reiterate, I am in a really tough situation where I'm uncertain about the possibility of whether I have my current job or not. I'm trying to be very diligent with the amount of money that I have saved for the moment while I search for alternatives to my current (former?) work, as most of it may have to go to my rent next month.
