I don’t have anything else to say, but for some reason I hate when a happy ending is contrived and sometimes when there’s no happy ending.
I like sad or unhappy endings. Depends on what the story has to tell. Forced happy endings would be the only thing I take issue with.
I like stuff like Watership down and Plague Dogs for instance, but I kmow some don't.
I agree, a lot of stories can have good endings that aren’t happy. Say, perfume or Frankenstein.
There's a lot but a lot of americans are cowards who don't like ambiguity or unhappy endings.. I blame disney but it's fairly common
I watched/read a lot of Irish/British/European stuff so I'm used to grim tellings and more downbeat stories, same with extremely black comedy, americans don't really have that..
