Funny, but I sometimes do wonder if reactionaries are kind of afraid of demonstrations of lasting intimacy over cheap horny moments in their treats.
See how much outrage they had for Gundam The Witch From Mercury, for example.

It was gay enough to cause a reactionary outcry and make the studio chicken out and announce those were "friendship rings."
Yes, it should have been so gay that the studio had no possible way to pull that shit.
Also it should have not had Suletta's mom go suddenly evil at the end.
