This game has looked like a complete dud that no one asked for to me from everything I've seen, but of course the vast majority of gamer complaints have seemed to be just frothing about WOKE DEI ESG
I recently realized that the vast majority of content that this crowd whines about isn’t very good on its own merits. For example, The Acolyte, which was middling at best from what I watched, got it hard from the Star Wars reactionary fans while Andor, which has an only slightly less diverse cast, did not. This indicates to me that while these people are sincere racists and probably really do believe that diverse casting signals a conspiracy against the white race, they also lack conviction and will fall silent if the treats are tasty enough.
If it's absolute hog slop trash they'll oink and gobble it up, sometimes just for the performative gesture of "THIS IS NOT WOKE SO IT MUST BE GREAT!"
That Harry Potter pogrom game where you play a magic SS officer cracking down on "goblins"
comes to mind.
what makes it even worse is that hollywood execs know when their movies/tv shows are shaping up to be total shit, and they purposefully lean into the culture war stuff to try and cause controversy and get free marketing. They also love using diverse casts as a shield, when they know they have a total stinker they think to themselves "well let's at least make it filled with didactic liberal moralism" to shield themselves from criticism. That way when they get negative reviews for their absolute trash movie they can blame it on the reactionary review bombers, when it would have gotten bad reviews anyway
They can't get mainstream approval for their absurd whining if they target actually good stuff, unless they manage to get a huge amount of right-wing unified action on the subject, which is difficult with their lack of actual organization.
So you see a bunch of slightly shitty to very shitty media being broadcasted as part of this whole "woke ruined my vibeo game!!" thing because they need the normal people complaining about normal things like how shit the media is to amplify their weird anti-pronoun "criticisms"
Edit: This is why you only ever hear about these shit games that are also "woke". Genuinely good stuff that's "woke" can't be a target of the woke scaremongering without going against general consensus reality, and bad stuff that's "not woke" is stuff people forget in a week because relatively normal people aren't that obsessed with hating things they haven't heard of before that look kinda bad. These "criticism trains" need the right wing culture warriors to keep them going.
It’s always been like this. I remember YouTube Skeptiks losing their mind when the all-female Ghostbusters was a flop.
Even if it was the greatest game in existence...there are like five of these on Steam that are free to play.
They're asking for the equivalent of $40 for this? lol, nope.

Guess they didn't learn from Destruction AllStars. Apparently the servers for that game might still be up, somehow.
I think they know what they're doing and their strategy is "launch and launch and launch until one sticks" because one sticking will make them enough to recoup the investment into the 10 that failed. These live service games are the holy grail IF they can get one to stick.
Helldivers 2 this year basically proved the validity of that approach for them.
It apparently started development when Overwatch came out.
