Remember the tide of internet funny money peddlers that claimed that database ledger positions associated with ugly monkey cartoons would revolutionize the world and somehow stick it to the big banks and the current ruling class (that more than anyone else bought into the fucking things)? Good times.
Yeah, like Tom Morello
I totally forgot about that Onion-level shit. Haha.
"MOST OF MY HEROES DON'T APPEAR ON NO STAMPS" but you are invited to bid on my Sotheby's NFT...
I'm somewhat ashamed to say that I own a piece of Morello merch -- some years back, he did a signature guitar wah-wah pedal with Dunlop. Funny thing is, it's just a regular Dunlop Crybaby wah, but with Zapatista graphics. I didn't already have a Crybaby, and the used market on those things dried up pretty badly during COVID lockdown, so I said fuck it, $5 above regular new price and I get EZLN livery on my wah? Count me the fuck in.
Then he went and did this NFT shit. God damn it, Tom.
Posting an RIP Colin Powell tweet is now officially the third most embarrassing thing any member of Public Enemy has ever done.
Tangential, but this website was unusable for a second during the whole GME spectacle.
Oh, another vaguely ape-related bazinga cringe phenomenon, that one.
Just the news area which is where I lurked haha probably made it unusable myself 😅

You said the site was unusable for a while?
Remember when people here said AI art was proletarianizing art by taking it from the """bourgeois""" artist class and putting it in the hands of the working class?
I still sometimes see shit vaguely saying that, if it isn't fatalistic "well nothing you can do about it so may as well stan for the treat printers while anticipating unemployment on a planet that is burning down at an accelerated rate because of the treat printers."
The treats AI makes aren't even GOOD treats is the stupid thing. At least Marvel movies have some fucking explosions and witty dialog, what's the appeal of a trailer for a fake SciFi movies where a cyborg lady with fucked up hands monologues to you?
Can you show me examples am curious not saying you are wrong
It was already in the recent thread on the technology section of the site, and judging by the rest of your venerably 17 hour account, you made this account to concern troll me anyway.
Pound sand.
One of the early Bitcoin arguments was that it would help marginalized people in the global south who were cut off from traditional banking.
Fast forward to fairly recently, when some people in Palestine are using crypto to receive aid, Binance cut off access when Israel asked. No court orders necessary. Turns out crypto is easier to freeze than money in traditional banking.
Like pretty much everything else in internet funny money, it's a bunch of bullshit and anything will be said to pump for the next dump.
