It's wrong, 1.7% of gunshot wounds are to a penis, but it includes assaults, not just people shooting themselves.
That's the beauty in adding (this is not a bit post this is real) to your posts to indicate the full ninety seconds of effort you invested into fact-checking.
I am jumping straight from reading this comment to trashing op without fact-checking this claim that they're wrong btw
Still inaccurate -- 1.7% of GSW patients are there for GSW to the penis (GSWP). By only considering patients, there's a bias against GSWs where treatment was not sought. If a bullet grazes my shoulder while I was doing something I don't want known to everybody, I might try to treat it at home. GSWP? I'm going to see a doctor, a real doctor, not somebody's cousin who almost finished nursing training, an actual doctor, so the second wound ends up in the numerator and denominator while the first contributes to neither.
