It's probably been going on longer than Iraq, too. Christian fundamentalists have been trying to trigger the apocalypse for a long time. It's sacrilege (God doesn't need your help deciding when or where he wants to end the world), though that won't stop reactionaries from getting us all killed.
Oh yeah, I should correct it to "in my lifetime" lol. I think it was just the first time I actually noticed that evangelicals want to kill us all
