I've been threatening to dye my hair for so long, tomorrow I'm just gonna do it I swear. I've got nothing else on, I just gotta buy the dye and bleach and use it
I have been afraid of making any kind of statements with my self-expression I guess. It requires confidence that I have never had. But I just need to do it, its something I want to do and have wanted to do forever. Also I'm in my early 20s, what better time to fuck around with my expression
I was worried for a bunch of reasons about dying my hair for years. then one day I said fuck it, dyed it purple, and have never gone back. the worst tthat happens is you don't like it, and it grows out
Yeah I've decided I'm okay with not liking my hair for a while if it goes badly. Did you dye your hair yourself or go to a salon?
dyed it myself, staining far too much of the bathroom purple doing so
damn this is real. Just went black a couple weeks ago, ruined a top over it lol, worth it tho.
You can do it! Express yourself!
I'm gonna fucking do it, just you wait. Gimme 24 hours and I will tag you to say that I have done it, because its gonna happen
Good do it!
Have a specific first color in mind?
Plan to try out a temporary dye next week for a costume. Still wanna wear it to work for a day or two and to my parents cause that sounds like fun. Not in my 20's anymore. Certainly won't be professional looking, but at least its Halloween season, so excuses.
I wanna go white, so I'm gonna have to bleach my hair then use a toner. I've chosen a particular brand that I'm looking for and watched a bunch of tutorials, so I'm prepared. I think. hopefully
What costume are you doing, and what colour are you dying?
Nice! White is such a cool hair color. Definitely sounds hard to achieve.
Chigari from Blue Lock. I picked the character before really watching the show because my brother wanted to go as Nagi from the same show (because white hair probably - by far my brother's favorite hair color). I had seen bits an pieces with my brother and my cousin were watching it. My brother also suggested that character for me independently, but I had already decided from a glance at a picture with 8 of the main characters.
He has red hair with a side french braid. So I guess I need to learn to do a side french braid.
spoilers and typically anime gender warning
Turns out Chigiri is regularly gendered as female jokingly by other characters in the show. He says he's not a girl like the first time someone does that, but after that seems pretty okay with it. The show is like 99.9% males (there's one female character who gets like 30 seconds of screentime in a couple episodes). So now I get why my brother made the suggestion.
