I think this is lame and stupid edgelord bullshit for babies.
Sometimes, some people try so hard to be "mature" that they are very immature about it, like wanting a violent death for cartoon characters.

That was a bad time; a lot of people I knew were really into Happy Tree Friends for a while and kept showing me clips of it.
One was enough to get the idea, but for a time it seemed like there was an endless appetite for "what if cute thing that's friendly for all ages... but horribly murdered?"
