the way Israel gets to act like a mad dog despite being a "vassal" makes me wonder what sort of leverage they have that allows them to get away with it
Isn't it really more like America is using israel puppet-like, decrying their actions while being the hand inside?
Course you could argue it's more like israel has infiltrated and co-opted america's politics too, but honestly the result is the same, that Amerikkka and Israel are not allies at all, but one entity

Because israel and america are one body politic. I'm sure you agree that Israel-America want the land, and we have tons of evidence that israel-America does not care if non-elite Americans die.
I doubt they want that, but I doubt even more that they care; technically they bombed the guy's family, not other Americans, but regardless...
That's the price America is winning to pay for an unsinkable aircraft carrier in the region.

The same reason America supports Ukraine, the mujahideen and any other terrorist forces in recent history - to turn the regions into wastelands to achieve their geopolitical aims without having to sacrifice the lives of a single American soldier. It’s that simple.
