as a marriage old head i can say flowers are always the move. i hope his date went well.
edit alright im a little confused by the other comments in here, my feedback is anecdotal and apparently im the only person who consisntently dated and then married flower enjoyers

I think most people would be happy to receive flowers from a date
No there’s definitely people that don’t like receiving anything on a first date because women often learn through experience that with a gift comes an expectation. Like someone else said in another comment, you have to feel the vibes a bit to know if it will be appreciated, and sometimes you just have to guess with the chance of making a mistake.
