So the grand majority of Americans/Westerners treat politics the same as sports don't they. It's My Team vs Your Team, Red Vs Blue type shit. The outcomes don't matter to these people, it's all about supporting "your team", not any policy or action they'll take. This guy might identify as a democrat, maybe even progressive, but he has no problem seeing his neighbors rounded up by the jack booted thugs as punishment for them taking a stand against genocide and not just voting blue because it's what you do.

It's the same for any mainstream western political party, I couldn't count the number of people I've talked to who always vote a certain way because "that's what my family votes". Even when they're getting screwed over by the party they voted for it's always someone else's fault and they vote for them again next time.
