Honestly I almost feel like we should loosen the mod policy to let some back in. It was a good bonding exercise for us, I felt like we all got along better when we had Libs to dunk on.
You can just go outside of hexbear to lemmy dot ml and get the same thing.

you can! lemmy.ml is run by commies who are just less strict moderators than we are, so they're still federated. Just turn your front page on here to "All" instead of "Local" or subscribed

There's actual consequences for this behavior IRL, like losing friends, jobs, getting the cops called on you
it’s not as fun when you’re trying to make it happen on purpose imo
when I first started on lemmy.ml I received a ban from a federated instance for being a "hexbear alt and troll", that's how I realized I might fit in here
I've said this since forever. People talk about hexbear pre-federation as if it was a good place. It was stale, full of people arguing over rocks and when they weren't doing that they were posting about how much better a site this is than Reddit.
