Rest of the tweet text:

right before he trotted out this genocidal Zionist hasbara line that he learned from his days living on stolen land in Israel, Bernie Sanders angrily shouted, "UKRAINE DID NOT START THIS WAR! RUSSIA DID!" But the genocide was started by Palestinians. This is the Zionist monster Bernie Sanders is

I have said this before but it should be repeated often. I will never stop being ashamed of myself for having ever expressed any support for this disgusting genocidal Zionist scumbag Bernie Sanders. Never in my life. He is the personification of evil

imagine saying during the Holocaust: "Nazi Germany has the right to defend itself". Imagine saying that about Russia today. Bernie Sanders would smear you as an evil monster for saying that. But he says it about his precious Israel with such ecstatic glee

as his last political act before he dies Bernie Sanders decided to use all his political capital and the status he has as the supposed standard-bearer of the US left to launder his precious genocidal Israeli death-cult. Every single thing he say and does is calculated, designed and aimed at protecting his precious Israel by diverting the mass sentiment that only grows by the day against it toward nothingness, and blocking its mobilization into actual change in politics, as I detailed in these threads: https://x.com/zei_squirrel/status/1901640354232680932

No, you are not allowed to recognize the genocide.

No, you are not allowed to call for an actual arms embargo and sanctions on Israel.

No, you are not allowed to call Israel an apartheid regime.

No, you are not allowed to acknowledge the reality that Hamas has repeatedly offered diplomacy while Israel has been the genocidal aggressor long before Hamas even existed.

Bernie Sanders says no to all of that. And he uses his pseudo-radical rhetoric and credentials to destroy any movement that seeks to make these core pillars that are essential to stopping the ongoing genocide from becoming part of a mass movement and political project that can take power.

He is doing everything he can to salvage the Israeli death-cult as it is committing genocide. This is why Bernie Sanders is the personification of evil today.

Bonus tweet

in 2023, right as the genocide was reaching its most murderous levels, Bernie Sanders voted for a Senate Resolution condemning anti-genocide student protesters and organizations as "antisemitic, repugnant, and morally contemptible". He is directly responsible for the deportations

Ahhhh that makes 100% sense. Some Kibbutz settlers consider themselves "socialist" namely because they're tighter knit communities to your usual capitalist individualist societies. Turns out maintaining a racially-pure colony on the periphery of the state takes some collaboration.

Of course a settler colonist who enjoyed free healthcare and subsidised education whilst cosplaying socialism by sharing some sugar with his neighbours is gonna be treated like Lenin when he comes home.

~~Murray Bookchin should've shot him~~ Fuck sake thousands of bookchin memes eviscerated with one single article https://theanarchistlibrary.org/library/murray-bookchin-attacks-on-israel-ignore-the-long-history-of-arab-conflict

A lot of time, Kibbutz are used as a exemplar model for how to do Socialism but a lot of people fails to mention that only 2% of them are actually coops and most of them are now privatized. A lot of the infrastructures of the Kibbutz are built by low paying Palestine labour.

The irony of Israel is that the Labour Zionists really put the Nationalist in their socialism as they are more racists compared to the Capitalist Israeli that tends to be more tolerant towards the Palestinians

Murray Bookchin

Wasn't he also a Zionist?

https://theanarchistlibrary.org/library/murray-bookchin-attacks-on-israel-ignore-the-long-history-of-arab-conflict Oh god oh fuck

If I was to cope hard it would be that he's critical of the idea that the Arab nations were coming to the aid of Arab Palestinians in 1948 and onwards, to the point of calling them imperialists. And he also seemed to suggest a unitary confederation of Arabs and Jews, not unlike post-apartheid Africa. Being 1986 it predates a lot of the horrors.

But this is cope that disappears into total "good god shut the fuck up bro" the more you read.

Even so, he still naiively clings to the idea that Israelis were not interested in genocide of Arabs simply because they allowed the ones who didnt fight back to live as second class citizens.

He outright ignores Israeli massacres of Arabs but mentions massacres committed by Arab forces in 1948, despite both being well documented by that point.

Most egregious is that he echoes the "Grand Mufti of Jerusalem" myth that was also used by Netanyahu as ""evidence"" of Arab Naziism.

Yeah dude drank the koolaid fuck sakeeee. I still think the contents of social ecology and communalism are worth consuming but yeah I'm gonna back away from namedropping him as much lmao

Who's the best anti-imperialist anarchist theorist, since Bookchin was a repulsive zionist?

[–] Diva@lemmy.ml 4 points 1 week ago

bookchin also kind of has a lot of white eurocentrism going on, like sometimes he makes good points but I can't stand reading him

[–] merthyr1831@lemmy.ml 3 points 1 week ago

Abdullah Öçalan kinda skirts that line depending on how you want to classify his work.
