No, it's more that they were exposed to way worse air quality and they all smoked and drank and lived in homes made of lead and asbestos in between shifts at the racism factory. There were trucks driving down the nascent suburbs spraying deet in the air on all the kids playing on the lawns.

If you look up the poster for Cheers, season 1, everyone there is in their 30s

There's certainly Hollywoodification at work with unnaturally hot people being cast for everything now but also millennials wear sunscreen and grew up with far less environmental toxicity.

Gen Z on the other hand are growing up in the shadow of everyone on TV having several cosmetic procedures and they're shockingly common among members of the cohort. Vaping is also huge with them.

As someone in his early 40s, watching old shows is such a disorienting experience. I was hate -watching Home Improvement recently and Tim Allen was always the “old dad” to me but I’m seeing him on screen and realizing I’m actually older than that person now. Bizarre feeling.
