obviously the creepy sexism is the real issue here but also, man you are WAY too old to start using "u"
My mother has been an avid reader her whole life started texting like that, but worse. Lots of misspellings and general weirdness. She used to be pretty eloquent in a text. I blame the internet.
I just managed to forget how to use commas and write in complete sentences. Over text, in formal writing I'm usually present enough to catch those things.
