Ah, this is really too bad, because I liked being on an instance that was federated with pretty much every other instance because I feel that defederation generally sucks, barring some extreme exceptions (n.b., the so-called "Tankie Triad" :D is not one of those exceptions).
As far as I know, this will only leave lemmy.sdf.org and lemmy.zip as fully federated instances. :(
Edit: I forgot to mention lemmy.ml. Also, apparently lemmy.today is also pretty good about not defederating. Lemmy.sdf.org is a bit problematic because it's not actively maintained.
Leminal.space is good
Isn't lemmy.ml still federated to almost everything?
(I do not keep up with instance news, very prepared to be laughably wrong here)
True too. I forgot that. I think I'm leery because usually the people who keep whining about the "Tankie Triad" include lemmy.ml as part of that triad and keep lobbying for other instances to defederate from it.
Been on here since spez shit the bed, Idk haven't really seen anything specifically tankie from here
Same here. The tankie hate on Lemmy is way, way, way overdone and stupid.
Edit: on second thought, it's not even just tankie hate. It's calling everything to the left of them tankie.
You have to remember, the people complaining about the "tankie triad" consider everything to the left of Kamala Harris to be "tankies"
I'm called a liberal by hexbear and a radical leftist by liberals.
Reddthat.com also has a policy of federating just about everyone. I think the only instance they're defederated from is Threads.
Interesting, thank you! I will add that to my list.
I do wonder where I'll go if/when sdf is gone
If you like seeing posts from all (legal) lemmy instances, it seems that lemmy.zip will be the only other lemmy instance that's federated with pretty much everyone. I mentioned lemmy.today in my post, but have since learned that they're apparently having problems with spam accounts.
They also shielded universalmonk and donaldjmusk (conservative/republican posters).
I'm not conservative or republican. Never have been. I'm a socialst-anarchist. I got banned from .world because I advocated third-party voting--specifically the socialist party. The same party I ended up voting for in the election.
Before the election, advocating for third-party was a bannable offense. NOW it's cool to talk third parties, but then it was not.
I’m not sure why you keep pushing the narrative that I’m conservative, even tho I created and mod socialist communities (even on .world: @swp@lemmy.world), I created a socialist party Mastadon account. And the majority of my posts are socialist/anarchist/piracy. I’m actually on the same dbzer0 instance that you are, and I’m on the sh.sh.itjust.works instance.
My posts there are public:

I've never supported the duopoly, got banned for saying I would never support the duopoly. I've never written any conservative articles. I DO believe that conservative voices should be allowed on Lemmy, because I despise censorship. I've posted articles from every political spectrum. But that doesn't make me a conservative.
If I were a conservative, then why would I also post so many links to socialist articles and socialist causes?!
Any more details on that? I'm not familiar with the history.
!conservative@lemmy.today !conservative@hilariouschaos.com
These two comms are modded, and mostly populated by those guys (there is speculation that they are the same people, hence, they are banned on lemm.ee).
I see, thanks!
Good to know. I just am always hesitant to use anything on a .zip domain
Yes, that was an unfortunate choice.
What's the deal with it?
Can end up downloading bad things unintentionally. People like to hide or obscure things by putting them in a zip (while also making it easier to send files)

I see, thanks for the info.
