Bro, it is all of us.
Human beings have shown over and over again throughout history that no matter their heritage, they’re just dumb and incapable of seeing it.
We have brilliant humans all over the world from varying backgrounds, but most of us (myself included in oh so many ways) are just pitifully incapable of getting any of this right.
We focus on what is in front of us and relevant in a moment, and when another human starts running and screaming, we all start running and screaming. We don’t stop to ask why because we don’t want to get eaten or left behind.
Someone else shows up and starts eating a little grass in the little stupid field, and the rest start looking for things to chase them off over. “Something ain’t right about his hat. It’s funny! Git eeeeem!”
Cubans in America have so completely been brainwashed. My mom is 71 and still thinks if she went home to visit, they'd arrest her for stepping on Cuban soil. Despite the fact that many of my cousins have gone back and come home safely. She left Cuba when she was 5.
My cousins and extended family have voted republican their whole lives despite being considered nothing more than "the help" by Republicans, as well as a convenient voting block that SHOULD be voting for their best interests, instead turning and holding Florida a perpetual red state.
Propaganda and misinformation from 64 years ago, the Bay of Pigs, associated Kennedy and the Dems as enemies of Cubans. None of my idiot people bother to look deeper to see that the congressional branch was held by the GOP at the time and pulled support from Kennedy, leaving the freedom fighters of that operation high and dry... (my grandma was so fond of reminding me that my cousin Abelardo was captured).
So, while I take your meaning fully, it is absurdists like this judge who have a voice on television that perpetuate this fear. Despite the Cubans thinking Dems are socialists and will turn our country into a dictatorship, they vote for people like Trump who actually are doing it.
Fuck the idiotic people of my heritage. We have good music, food, and butts, but no brains.
