Why is the title different?
We like to have fun here.
What is this place? A safe space for underrepresented peoples and peoples of color to talk, chill, and vibe.
What are the basic rules of the community?

Follow Lemmy TOS and Community Guidelines. Non negotiable. This is the bedrock and mods will make decisions with this always in mind.

This community is for ethnic minorities and people of color. This is a safe space where such people can freely discuss their struggles, insight, and thoughts without fear. If you are not, we respectfully ask you do not post or comment here. A future community will be established to allow for racial discussions with a mixed userbase. However, remember, comments here must still respect Lemmy TOS and Community Guidelines.

No sectarianism: This is an identity channel not a channel for you all to complain about why XYZ isn't the "one true leftism". Take that to another place.

Stupidpol is not allowed. Stupidpol is class reductionist. We are an identity community. Thinking like stupidpol ignores the struggles of the oppressed, their voices, and their need for unique support. Nothing says oppression more than someone saying that the identity you have is "not real" and that if you only thought like them you'd see what your "real" identity is. Mods reserve the right to ban users and content who promote stupidpol, stupidpol memes, and other class reductionist thinking.

I don't look XYZ and/or sometimes I can pass as white so I don't know if I can post here. Can I?

This place is for ethnic minorities and people of color. This includes those of mixed heritage and those who may be "white" but are of an ethnicity that is a minority in their area (i.e. Kurds, etc) If you've experienced oppression due to your identity that is not based on sexual / gender identification, you are welcome here.

Moreover, for our American audience, we have people from around the world who are "white" but are oppressed due to being a minority in their country. They are and should be welcomed here.

I mean... maybe.
Nobody wants to talk about it but serious people should really ask if the 2020 protests for George Floyd accomplished any significant material political outcomes. What and why or why not.
A lot of police departments were made to wear body cams and then.....consequences were brushed aside for cops doing dirt on film while democrats increased police funding. The Biden administration and the rest of the Democrats stifled any police reform/defunding (and abolition wasn't even in the conversation).
This happened because as stated earlier in this thread, there isn't a leftist political vanguard. BLM was decentralized to avoid what happened to the BPP, but the side effect was liberals from the Democratic party were allowed in. Those liberals then defanged everything and rallied behind Biden's run for president. Because there was no vanguard, there was nobody enforcing party discipline. There wasn't even a party to join in the first place, just a Twitter hashtag.
Part of this also is how anyone with experience organizing is either dead, in prison, or flipped. There isn't institutionalized experience being passed down to younger leftwing causes in the US. Between McCarthyism, COINTELPRO, and chuds in general, nothing is left. Even the Nation of Islam is a shadow of its former self, despite its reactionary politics overlapping with the reactionary politics of American power structures and bourgeois interests.
I agree with you on this. Except that there has been so-called parties and organizations and many of the same parties and organizations that are self-appointed leaders today were also operating in 2020 and 2016. Yet they repeat the same platitudes and talking points which accomplished nothing. Alongside a non profit industrial complex of course. Unfortunately, anything beyond spicy protesting will be deemed adventurism and aggressively disavowed by these "movement leaders".
Makes sense. I wish that these events were even 5% as interesting as the USnazi (red flavour) pundits keep screaming. "CCP BACKED PROTESTS" "MEXICAN GOVERNMENT AGENTS" because then there would be some actual strategy.
