Just holy shit. Holy shit. Conservative conspiracy theorists always go on and on about secret societies planting subliminal pedophilic imagery in kids’ shows and it’s ridiculous because in reality you don’t need a secret society and it barely needs to be subliminal. Just wrap your abuse up as a “joke” and get people to laugh with you. The concept of sneaking adult themes into kids’ shows has never been more insidious.

Oh man watch the whole thing it’s wild

I liked Drake and Josh a lot, and I watched iCarly but every once in a while there’d be a “joke” that I would just find offputting and not funny. Victorious and later Sam and Cat I didn’t watch and every time I did see them they made me intensely uncomfortable, something just seemed so intensely off about those shows and I didn’t know what it was at the time.

I’m seeing the former cast of Neds Declassified Survival Guide go on their podcast (yes, they have a podcast) claiming to be the only show from Schneider-era Nickelodeon where nobody got molested. I guess they really did have a survival guide.

What a fucked up superlative. I hope they’re real confident about that fact. Because it sure seemed like Josh didn’t know about Drake for the longest time.
