It was mentioned on the most recent QAA. The founders were all former Conservapedia contributors who got put off/banned by Schlafly's creationism.

Gives me strong New Atheist vibes any time I wind up there, so I wasn't shocked.

Not quiet leftist because their takes on AES countries and communism in general are really bad but definitely like, center-left and very definitely socially progressive.
