I’m glad my parents weren’t super strict about gender-specific toys growing up. I had dinosaurs, my little pony plushies, pink dragons, transformers, and superhero action figures.
Meanwhile one of my brothers says that his son will grow up to be a wimp because he doesn’t play with trucks and prefers baby dolls.
I was always jealous of these Lisa Frank notebooks all the girls had in school. They looked really psychedelic and had a really 70's van band vibe.
My mom probably would have bought me one, but I never had the guts to ask
Things around the house, my mom didn't care, but I'm not sure she'd let me use something like that at school. She already worried we'd be picked on because our mom gay. Practically taught us that masking was expected and normal I think.

It seems children turn out the same or opposite their parents. Pity when people’s youth turns them off from good things their parents valued.
