out of the loop a little, you have it straight usually?

[–] ashinadash@hexbear.net 10 points 1 month ago (2 children)

Nah my hair is curly naturally, but it was only recently people here taught me how to care for it properly. I was using normal shampoo and a shitty brush, when it turns out I needed to be using jojoba oil (or others) and a wide toothed comb and stuff, towel drying my huge hair. I was expecting the curls to sort of straighten out but if you treat them nice they're very durable which is rad.

Ah, great!

My hair is straight. It's like I use a flat iron on it every day. Zero volume, sucks lol

edit: my routine is usually conditioner and shampoo, without parabens and such. and rising with cold water and wide tooth comb, makes it silky smooth, but again no volume

Have you tried back combing for volume?

[–] rainn@hexbear.net 8 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Not really, I should try that. I remember I have tried it but not really any results from that

anything I do just splits in the middle of my head and goes flat lol I've also tried volume shampoos and nada

There may be some tutorials online for it. Can also try blow dry from the bottom but I'm more a drip dry person.

I have weird hair where the top is wavy with curls at a certain length.

[–] rainn@hexbear.net 6 points 1 month ago

Sure, I'll attempt that^^

Can the jojoba oil just be in the shampoo or does it have to be used on its own (I also have curly whirly hair)

[–] ashinadash@hexbear.net 6 points 1 month ago (1 children)

I use a shampoo with jojoba as like the sixth ingredient, Idk if pure seperate oil is better but it works for me.
