How is Dronerights still kicking around on Lemmy, like how are people still not catching on to it after the first three times?
It's baffling to me, but I guess it makes sense for a place like the verse that still has illusions of being "apolitical" or non-biased in some way (this just means liberalism), like Blahaj Lemmy explicitly being a place for all queer people and Ada (admin of Blahaj Lemmy) not even being able to give a conclusive answer to whether she would ban fascist trans users: https://lemmy.blahaj.zone/comment/9878564
So a person comes along who has all the correct aesthetic signifiers of being a good member of the community (saying all the things politely, civilly, not being obviously reactionary) but whose actual outcome of interacting in your community is starting endless drama and wrecking but it's difficult to justify banning them because they're just "expressing honestly held opinions" or whatever
I guess part of the difference is that Hexbear (and I think Lemmygrad too? like Wisconcom) have dealt with people like this before, and you can just ban them. We don't have explain that decision in the context of some kind of liberal "anti-authoritarianism" and mods being non-biased mediators in the community or whatever, you can just ban them for wrecking lol
Idk, I cannot speak properly today lol
Regardless of that, it is really obvious that its DroneRights lol. The fixation on narcissism (it has literally said that "narcissist" is a slur and called it the n-word lmao), the same long-winded yet substance-less way of speaking, the strange idealist worldview (I had a discussion about reality not really existing like a year ago with it lol), the endless wrecking/drama starting about people invalidating its identity while it invalidates other people's identities (got banned for that here lol)
I don't think everyone involved is DroneRights but it's similar to the ziq problem where at a certain point the sockpuppeting undermines trust in the whole community and its hard to be sure who is who anymore
It's wild, bonus DroneRights brainmelt for you under the "Grail" identity lol:
Btw, corrections/refinement welcome from people who have been following this incredibly online stuff more than me lol
Thanks for the summary, it was very helpful. I could have sworn Dronerights had a blahaj alt that got banned last year during the rest of the drama though. I guess even if so, Blahaj's moderation team are such libshits they'd give someone with all the tells the benefit of the doubt.
