Dragon Age: The Veilguard, whoop whoop!

Actually, I wouldn't mind if this turned into a Dragon Age thread, but whatever, what announcements did you like?

Also, damn, lots of Chinese games here, at least a couple.

LEGO Horizon Adventures seems like it's the start of a brand by LEGO vis a vis other people's IPs.

...Actually, yeah, I know that that last part makes the LEGO brand out to be malicious with them piggy-backing on other people's IPs, but eh.

Probably should get Alan Wake 2 sometime since there's DLC coming out.

I'm just now finishing the first campaign of Elden Ring (I'm at the Altus Plateau) and then they drop this DLC expansion. Just my luck... But yeah, what do you all think?

Spoilers are allowed, btw.

Should be arriving at around June 20th to June 21st world-wide, correct me if I'm wrong.

Also, anyone else a fan of EZA?

Hey, check it out.

Anyone got more info on this?

Apparently, it's forming into a general strike.

I have Victrola's "The Empire" (6-in-1) vinyl record-player.

And I have old vinyls from the 1960s and 1970s and they work well, all things considered, though they've been scratched and have lots of dust on them.

I used a tool-kit to clean the dust as much as I can, but it can only go so far.

And there are clearly marks and scratches too.

But this is old Dominican music on a vinyl CD so I'm not worried.

Though my replacement needle is accruing dust... I should clean that.

But yeah, sound quality is off the charts. Don't know how to describe it. the stuff I've been listening to on Spotify or Apple Music (yeah, I know, I know) doesn't come close to the reverberations and timbre here. Honestly, I'm glad that I'm collecting vinyls now. I got this from the Dominican Republic; a person was just giving his old vinyls away. He said take as many as I could, too.

Anyway, gotta put in the gel to clean the needle.

But yeah, works like a charm.

What vinyls should I get?

Thinking of getting the "Big Wave" album by a certain Japanese artist.

Like

Never felt anything like it, but it brought me back to how I was in my childhood and I could even play more video games and enjoy myself more.

Like, damn.

Just one edible, I took. Sativa. Peach-flavored. From Beyond / Hello.

Before that, I took half of an edible.

I was relaxed and my head was swimming, but I felt in control.

I had to lie down at first, though, but I wasn't worried.

My interoception (feeling your own body) was on fire though.

I want to keep my thoughts on it a bit mum here and I'll explain why.

But what does everyone think of it?

Because frankly, I think I'm enjoying a manga for the first time in a long time since I stopped reading them.

Thoughts on Witch Hat Atelier?

I'm on Chapter 34.

I hope it gets an anime.

I think everyone should attempt to work out, if you're able to.

I don't want to shame anyone into working out, but it could prove useful in the long run, and healthy too.

Probably are Proud Boys.

There are at least three ML parties in the United States:

FRSO

CPUSA

PSL

just saying: your options are open and they have been growing since the year 2020.

If not, you can check Facebook and Instagram since they're good for finding orgs in your area, various leftist groups and the like.

Barring that, there are AFL-CIO unions, independent labor unions, and the IWW.

Like I said, there are options.

Just thought I'd tell you all this in case you were feeling hopeless or distraught.

I agree that the DSA is... not my first pick. I've defended them, but the "caucus system" is something I don't agree with.

(I'm apart of CPUSA but I want to say that I'm formulating this post as impartially as I can.)

Frankly, people forgot about the NSA spying on everyone.

Trump also ordered a few coup attempts that we'll learn about soon enough.

People need to stop acting like he was "at least good in terms of foreign policy."

They never are.

Yeah, they really went for "less is more" in this case and it didn't pay off:

Prince Zuko gains the most from the show’s writing, with an expanded look at his rivalry with the human weasel Commander Zhao (Ken Leung), as well as his relationships with his uncle Iroh (Paul Sun-Hyung Lee) and his father Ozai (Daniel Dae Kim). And yet, when it comes to condensing the 20-episode “Book One” of the original series into only 8 episodes, so much is lost. Netflix’s Avatar: The Last Airbender suffers from the same issue as Disney+’s recent Percy Jackson adaptation in that the characters are too far ahead of the story, with so much of the meat of the source material getting cut that the plot developments come across as way too convenient.

I agree that making things bloated can be bad, but Avatar: The Last Airbender was great because of its filler and slice-of-life episodes; it could take a break and come back to the "serious" stuff later.

Good thing the Gin and Juche plant is still open and running!

Keep in mind that North Korea, or the DPRK, can't really trade except for with countries like China and the Russian Federation (and even then illegally while those two countries look the other way).

It's literally in an embargo that's been going on for decades now.

[-] Pluto@hexbear.net 50 points 5 months ago* (last edited 5 months ago)

Keep in mind that the DPRK had 20% of its people killed off in a matter of 3 years and much of its land destroyed.

So, while there have been a famine in recent memory (during the 1990s), this has been a result of the economic embargo and sanctions on the country.

I'm trying to be as honest as I can with you here.
