Hope you all have a great day in celebration of workers! I was curious if anyone was doing anything in particular to celebrate.

Personally I reread the Communist Manifesto as that is a tradition I've been doing the last couple years. Otherwise enjoying the day off as it is a holiday here

I’m in the US, so I’m celebrating by working.

Some professions need someone working every day and if you aren't in one of those hopefully soon your employer will see the error of their ways

Well, keep the spirit in mind and I suppose celebrate on labor day in the US assuming you get off.

I do always find it interesting that the US is so against lining up the date with the rest of the world.

I wear red and black with my baret with communist pins. My shirt is a toad with a hammer and sickle. I listened to the international this morning.

Keeping it in mind and posting here is doing something even if not a traditional celebration!

Visited the Botanical Garden in Leuven. Watched all the plants blossom.

I wanted to do something for the party or for work. I was supposed to give work priority today and help with constructing stuff or walking in the parade. I applied to help, but nobody ever told me exactly what to do, where to be and how long I would be helping, despite me and my manager sending multiple reminders to the committee. Because of this I also didn't make plans with the party to help.

I decided to just enjoy my day off instead. Did the botanical garden, visited a bar in the city and ate some Belgian fries for diner. Also did a run this morning after two weeks of being busy with moving and not having time to run/work out. I had a good day. Just not with the socialist crowd unfortunately.

Sounds like a great way to spend the day despite your original plans not working out.

Do what I can to help out the local encampment calling for university divestment from Israel
