How do you feel about sand?

[–] lugal@lemmy.ml 51 points 6 months ago (3 children)

... but you're far too lazy for it

[–] frickineh@lemmy.world 24 points 6 months ago (1 children)

Yeah, like I'm not even motivated enough to go to the grocery store most of the time, I'm definitely not working up the energy to pick a victim, plan a whole murder, do a whole murder, hide evidence, go home, and then do it all again later. That's basically a second job.

[–] umbrella@lemmy.ml 3 points 6 months ago

im glad we have the internet to distract serial killers now. imagine if you had to be home alone and bored

[–] Entropywins@lemmy.world 12 points 6 months ago

Oh, thank goodness, I thought I was a good person for a second...turns out I'm just lazy!!!

[–] dumbass@leminal.space 3 points 6 months ago

Look I'd like to go on a killing spree, but someone just uploaded an 8 hour synopsis of a kids cartoon I haven't seen decades and I must watch it.

The worry that someone would get murdered and they'd pin it on me because I'm a fucking weirdo loner and wouldn't have an alibi because I was always at home by myself was a non-negligible part of why I started making an effort to socialize more.

[–] BCsven@lemmy.ca 14 points 6 months ago (1 children)

Just install security cameras showing you were always home

[–] user224@lemmy.sdf.org 5 points 6 months ago (2 children)

I want to get a bodycam, but I am not sure how people would respond to that. Should be pretty legal in public spaces, but still...

[–] stephen01king@lemmy.zip 2 points 6 months ago

Just remember the public's reaction to Google Glass and you'll get the idea.

[–] reversebananimals@lemmy.world 2 points 6 months ago

Probably depends where you live. In a big city I don't think anyone would bat an eye, but in a small town in rural nowhere people would probably get upset right away.

[–] fossphi@lemm.ee 30 points 6 months ago

So anyway, I started blasting

Here I go again on my own Going down the only road I've ever known Like a drifter, I was born to walk alone And I've made up my mind I ain't wasting no more time.

What did you think this song was about?

[–] ParabolicMotion@lemmy.world 12 points 6 months ago (1 children)

Those people probably got the triad, though. Do you still wet the bed? Do you start fires? Do you torture animals? No? Then you’re probably fine! Being an introvert doesn’t necessarily make you a potential serial killer. Now, if you fit the triad, you might want to get some help.

Eh, some studies say it’s nothing. Here’s the wiki for it:

Pretty sure Ted Bundy had a long time girlfriend. Didn't she turn him in?

BTK was married and cub scout leader and president of his church.

The Golden State killer was married.

John Wayne Gacy had a wife for a bit. He was definitely murdering during his marrage. The wife couldn't figure out the stench from the crawlspace.

Canadian serial killer Russel Williams was a colonel in the army and married.

5 out of how many? Ok, maybe op has a point.

[–] nexguy@lemmy.world 4 points 6 months ago (1 children)

It's tough to hear that our seinor citizens mostly end up being serial killers.

[–] Huschke@programming.dev 3 points 6 months ago

It makes sense that older people are serial killers though. They simple had more time to murder more people throughout their years.

[–] Sam_Bass@lemmy.world 3 points 6 months ago (2 children)

That is not a proper factor. There are millions of solists out there that have no desire at all to kill anyone

[–] krashmo@lemmy.world 6 points 6 months ago

Maybe we need to gather all those soloists into a proper orchestra. Then they would really kill it.

[–] garbagebagel@lemmy.world 2 points 6 months ago

There's also serial killers that were/are very charismatic and social.

I'm just doing God's work out here, trying to slow down global warming
