/c/TenFoward: Your home-away-from-home for all things Star Trek!

Re-route power to the shields, emit a tachyon pulse through the deflector, and post all the nonsense you want. Within reason of course.

~ 1. No bigotry. This is a Star Trek community. Hating someone off of their race, culture, creed, sexuality, or identity is not remotely acceptable. Mistakes can happen but do your best to respect others.

~ 2. Keep it civil. Disagreements will happen both on lore and preferences. That's okay! Just don't let it make you forget that the person you are talking to is also a person.

~ 3. Use spoiler tags. This applies to any episodes that have dropped within 3 months prior of your posting. After that it's free game.

~ 4. Keep it Trek related. This one is kind of a gimme but keep as on topic as possible.

~ 5. Keep posts to a limit. We all love Star Trek stuff but 3-4 posts in an hour is plenty enough.

~ 6. Try to not repost. Mistakes happen, we get it! But try to not repost anything from within the past 1-2 months.

~ 7. No General AI Art. Posts of simple AI art do not 'inspire jamaharon' and fuck over our artist friends.

Fun will now commence.

I will never upvote a meme that includes “No one:”

[–] stanleytweedle@lemmy.world 12 points 4 months ago

No one except MisterMoo: "I will never upvote a meme that includes "No one"."

Well probably not no one but that's a weirdly specific peeve so probably a pretty small club.

I think it's funny sometimes because society will periodically get really enthusiastic about responding to ideas nobody's actually thinking or saying.

It's getting ridiculous. Meme loses zero impact by removing it.

Despite what he did on Voyager, that Hirogen's boss had a good plan for his people. Too bad the one seen here was a total dickbag.

Can't be expected to deprogram their hunting instinct quickly, so throw 'em into a simulation. Makes sense, if not for the live/brainwashed "prey" being used. He certainly planned to do away with living subjects once they had the holodeck tech themselves.

For the life of me I cannot remember who these two are.

Ambassador Mollari, soon to be Emperor at this point in the show, and Citizen G'Kar. They're almost frenemies by the time G'Kar delivers that line

Babylon 5 Season 5 episode 1, IIRC

War Criminal Ambassador Mollari

[–] AngryCommieKender@lemmy.world 5 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Well, I mean, at that point in the show please show me an alien main character that wouldn't be brought up on war crimes? Even Delen is a war criminal because of literally causing The Earth Minbari War because of the death of Dukhat. Even G'Kar openly admits that he committed war crimes prior to the events of Babylon 5.

Vir did nothing wrong. And Lennier just committed regular crimes.

[–] AngryCommieKender@lemmy.world 4 points 4 months ago* (last edited 4 months ago)

Fair point. I was thinking of the ambassadors themselves.

I was especially happy that Vir got what he wanted from Morden

TOM-A-LAK

TOM-A-LAK

(Both Tomalak and G'kar from Babylon 5 are played by the amazing Andreas Katsulas)

[–] AngryCommieKender@lemmy.world 9 points 4 months ago

Andreas Katsulas was one of the greatest actors of his age. His ability to emote through full prosthetics was amazing.

For the life of me, I cannot remember What made us think that we were wise and we'd never compromise For the life of me, I cannot believe We'd ever die for these sins, we were merely freshman

3AM? ..... more like 3PM as stuff like this got more and more normalized on the History Channel

[–] Ballistic_86@lemmy.world 4 points 4 months ago

History channel went from the Nazi channel to the alien channel, this is just its final form, Nazi Alien channel

This is perfect timing, I was just watching Quinton Reviews' video on the "downfall" of the History Channel. Highly recommend the video, dude's great at media analysis.
