I feel personally attacked.

I have a playlist of all the alternative rock I remember hearing on the radio growing up in the 1990s.

Very therapeutic.

Over the years, it's expanded to include more than just alt-rock from more than just the 1990s. Enjpy.

This is awesome, thank you!

I don't know if I should be happy about the fact that half these songs are already on my main playlist...

I didn't grow up in the 90s...

Saved the playlist though

It's different for everyone. Music taste lock-in is realio.

One that I rediscovered after completely forgetting about them but they were a big part of my teenage years: Incubus

Are you the alternative radio station where I live?

[–] ggtdbz@lemmy.dbzer0.com 21 points 1 year ago (3 children)

Well, there used to be a Spotify feature where you could tell it to generate a “radio” (algorithmic playlist) based on an existing playlist you have.

You have all your favorite songs of x mood in one playlist? Let the algorithm help you find more of this stuff!

Thankfully the execs at Spotify rightfully noticed that this was a good feature and immediately fucking axed it in the past year or so.

That was my favorite feature. That was why I used their damn service.

YouTube Music still has this at least

I can still do this, at least from the android app

That's a "game" that my friends play, player 1 plays 3 songs with a vibe, player 2 attempts to continue the vibe in their own library, etc...

It's a pretty fun background activity. The vibe always shifts slowly from player to player.

Pandora. It was called Pandora, in the days before AI, before ubiquitous streaming, before YouTube, even. And then region restrictions happened and I lost my favourite way of discovering new music T_T
